My favorite thing - Mi objeto favorito
Students write a descriptive essay about their favorite object telling us more about themselves. 1st Year by Sol Pomar My favorite thing is not really a thing that I use to do something, but it is important to me. It is a photo of a trip that I made with some friends. We traveled to Disneyworld last year and we took this picture in front of the main attraction of the park “Hollywood Studios”. This picture is important to me because it reminds me of a very important part of my life which was my 15th birthday. The trip was my birthday present and one of the best trips I have ever had. My Favorite Thing by Candela Zabala My favorite thing is not really a thing, it is someone that I love so much. So I am going to talk about it. I'm talking about my dog Hanna, a golden retriever. She is two years old and so big for her age, and I love that. She has got such thin hair that it falls off a lot. Then I have to brush it twice a day, but I don’t mind doing it for her. “My favorite thing is my colour pencil box. I use it to draw eyes because I am trying to draw realistic things. I want to become better and better every day. My pencil case is very important to me because I have waited to buy it for a long time and I love to draw. In that box I have one hundred and twenty pencils from different kind of colours and it is metallic. I have had it for a month, since my grandfather gave it to me on my birthday. Okay, he didn´t give me the box, but the money to buy it.” by Mariana Carrion Edited by Margarita Zichner Designed by 1st year students This creative writing project is designed to have students reflect on who they are and what they stand for. Students are asked, “If you could say three words to the world, what would you say?” “Si pudieras decir tres palabras al mundo, qué dirías?” “Love yourself first” The first step to success is to love yourself because you have to accept how you really are. If you want to love other people, you have to love yourself first. – Majo Romay “Live your dreams” Try to dream, but not all the time. Just make it happen. Live the dream and try to be yourself. Be the chance to your dream. Live it and stop dreaming. Dreaming is good, but making it real, is even better! - Maria Sol Herbert Profesores: -Margarita Zichner -Marta Rocío Benítez “Exhilaration Rewards Risk” If you live quietly, you will never feel that adrenaline of life. You have to leave a path behind you. But of course, the risks don’t have to put your health in danger! - Candela Zabala “Success is yours” Success is simple. Do what’s right, the right way, at the right time. Don’t aim for success if you want it. Just do what you love and believe in it, and it will come naturally. Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful. Exposed to different pieces of writing to improve their writing skills and build up vocabulary, students later express their own ideas using correct format, register and grammar structures according to their language proficiency.
