Cadiz Pilots: Ch 14 (VHF) Classes B, C, D use “Follow Me” to berth using channels 69 (VHF) 2.3 Call Signs Cádiz traffic (Ch 74 VHF) 2.4 Procedures All vessels should communicate with CADIZ TRAFICO on channel 74 VHF two hours before arriving at the navigational channel in the Bay of Cadiz. Any vessels bigger than 500 GT should also communicate with CADIZ PILOT before their arrival at the navigational channel . one hour The pilots will board vessels at the first buoy of the navigational channel. Tugs for vessels bigger than 500 GT will approach vessels once they have passed the navigational buoy, LA MONJA. Smaller vessels will be met inside the commercial basin by Follow Me RIBS. Class A vessels will berth in the commercial basin following the berthing plan. They will be offered tugs and linesmen. The rest of the vessels in Class B, C and D will berth in the fishing harbour next to the commercial basin. Class B, C and D vessels will be offered a service of FOLLOW ME RIBS that will work inside the commercial basin on VHF channel 69. In the case of an accumulation of arrivals Cadiz Trafico may ask vessels to wait in the anchorage zone of the Bay of Cadiz.. -6– The Tall Ships’ Races 2016 Captains’ Manual 2.5 Pilots The Pilots office is at Berth Nº 2 near the Control Tower. 2.6 Tugs Please call Cadiz traffic or Cadiz pilots. 2.7 Customs & Immigration Ships over 500GT should present a DUE through their shipping agent. All vessels will be required to fill in a STI crewlist in Lisbon before departure PASSENGERS: In the case of passengers from countries that are covered by the SHENGEN agreement it is only necessary to hold a passport or identity card, the rest of the crew belonging to EU countries not benefiting from the agreement will need a passport. Passengers belonging to third countries must submit a visa. A customs declaration will not be necessary for vessels arriving in the race from Lisbon. 2.8 CREW: Less than 18 years old. Minors should come with parental permission issued in the country of origin by the competent authority and translated into Spanish. 2.9 Security The area of the commercial port designated for the event will be outside the normal port regulation. and will be exempt from ISPS. Any vessel requiring ISPS should communicate their requirements to the Port Authority and the Organisation of the event, before arrival. The organization includes security arrangements to ensure the safe running of the event. Berthing: Dock “Alfonso XIII” Dock “Ciudad” Dock “Reina Victoria” Dock “Marqués de Comillas” CLASS B, C and D vessels: Cadiz Traffic will assist from the channel entrance to Harbour entrance. Then “Follow Me” boats will guide to alongside. Berthing Preferential: Dock Fernández Ladreda. 3.2 Formalities - Dress Ship - Colours The participating boats should be dressed overall with ornamental flags and others provide by the organization. Procedure & Format: At the conclusion of the parade the various crews should stay near the stage and follow the instructions of their liaison officers. Starting point in the door of the City Hall (see Plan) Thursday: 18:00 English (2 groups 100 pax max) 20:00 Spanish (1 group 50 pax max) Friday: 09:00 English (2 groups 100 pax max) 11:00 Spanish(1 group 50 pax max) 13:00 English(2 groups 100 pax max) Saturday: 09:00 English (2 groups 100 pax max) 11:00 Spanish(1 group 50 pax max) 13:00 English(2 groups 100 pax max) - 14 – Ca diz The Tall Ships’ Races 2016 Captains’ Manual 8 LIAISON SYSTEM 8.1 Liaison System (Explanation of system) The system will have a liaison office which will support all the needs of the ships, to develop this role the organization will have a liaison officer on each boat, the figure will serve as a liaison point between the boat the and office. The Liaison officer will arrive onboard on Thursday morning after 09:00 or on the ships arrival on Thursday morning.. 8.2 Name & contact details of Chief Liaison Officer Fernando Galan – tlfno. The fuel distribution will be made by tankers from 06.00 to 10.00 and will be requested through the liaison officer. It is recommended that classesB, C and D ships, refuel at gas station prior to docking port located in Puerto America (07:00 – 19:00) or Puerto Sherry.(08:00 – 20:00) Water The organization will provide participating vessels with a drinking water supplyins at 12 tons / hour. We will use the universal coupling hoses. The requests will be made through the liaison officer. There will be water available on the fishing dock for class B,C and D vessels. Electricity There is possibility of electrical power on all docks, although not considered necessary for ships of class "A and B" because they can be self-sufficient. The voltage is 220v - 50c / s. The provision should be requested through the liaison officer. Waste Ships rubbish should be deposited on the quayside, close to the boarding ladder before 08:00 each day when rubbish lorries will remove it. No rubbish will be collected after 08:00. Ships can use coloured rubbish bags for recycling. Yellow for Plastic, Blue for paper and cardboard, Green for glass and Black for everything else. For vessels moored on the fishing dock containers will be provided on the quayside and will be emptied at 08:00 The organisation will facilitate the removal of black water. This service must be requested through the liaison officer. Gas It is not possible to fill standard gas bottles in Cadiz. It will be possible to buy Spanish regulators and bottles and there will be a technician to help install if necessary. All class A vessels over 500 GT will be expected to present there DUE electronically through their shipping agent. - 25 – Ca diz The Tall Ships’ Races 2016 Captains’ Manual CREW SPORTS CREW RUNNING RACE Description: Athletics event for crew, approximately a 4,000 meters race by a circuit that will run along the commercial and fishing docks.
