Why do people refuse the wedding invitation
in today’s Gospel? They are simply too busy
with the usual daily tasks and commonplace affairs to
accept the hospitality of a great king. The king sends his
servants out with instructions to bring in everyone,
willy-nilly, to fil the house with people so the wedding
banquet can continue. Everyone is drawn into the house,
whether neighbor, servant, slave or passerby. What a
wonderful image of the Church this is: God, our King,
creates community and family out of an incredibly diverse
group of people. As we pray in the Mass, “Blessed are
those called to the supper of the Lamb.” We are blessed
indeed. Oh, and if you keep reading this Gospel further,
you will discover that you need appropriate clothing to
attend. Our Baptism dresses us in a white garment, making
us worthy, something to remember when we enter the
Church each Sunday. What are you wearing to the
Banquet?
St. Vincent de Paul Black Bag collection is
this weekend of October 11 and 12. Please
be generous.
Please pray for all of our Priests in the Diocese as they
attend their yearly retreat. No daily Masses will be
celebrated during the week of Monday, October 13 through
Friday, October 17 here at Mary Immaculate.
ACTS OF THE APOSTLES BIBLE STUDY
“Act” now to sign up for Acts of the Apostles 20-week Bible
Study, coming to Mary Immaculate on Tuesday evenings
at 7 p.m. beginning October 28, 2014. Only 20 spots are
available for this class and the first 20 paid registrations
received in the parish office will garner the spots. The
forms can be found on our website or in the Narthex. Call

by parishioner Bob Lawrence, an experienced Bible Study

COLUMBARIUM
A Mass for the repose of the souls of those buried in our
Columbarium will be celebrated each month. The price of the
columbarium niche is $2500. To purchase your niche, please call

Charities
Urgent
Needs
Catholic Charities of Dallas has a great need for household
donations for Refugee Services.
CCD manages an
average of 32 refugee families/individuals arriving in Dallas
County each week and is responsible for setting up their
apartments from top to bottom! There is currently an urgent
need for: Full/Twin sheet sets, bath and face towels,
blankets, comforters, new pillows, plates/bowls, drinking
glasses, pots/pans, and flatware.

Journey of Hope
“OVERCOMER” I am a huge fan of Christian
music. It never fails to inspire me and make
me feel closer to Christ. It doesn't matter how
stressed I am, when I play my favorite Christian songs, I
am transformed. My attitude becomes more positive, my
worries dissipate, and I even feel more alive. The first year
of my divorce was brutal. My world was collapsing around
me. My brother gave me a couple of Christian music CDs
and they became my shelter from my storms. I recently
heard a powerful song, Overcomer*,by Mandisa. It
reminded me how Christ gives me all the strength I need to
overcome any difficulty--both then and now. I hope it also
reminds you that you are never walking alone through life's
challenges. Christ is with you every step of the way giving
you everything you need to persevere!

Mary Immaculate Welcome Team is gearing up to
welcome all our future new parishioners. We want to

If you are a parishioner that owns a company/business or
has a service or product to offer, we would love to receive
your donation of free samples, discount coupons, special
offers, etc. from your company. We will include this with
home-baked goods, a ministries brochure, bulletin and parish newsletter, plus holy cards and other religious items
from our parish.

and help the team by baking or assembling baskets, or you
have questions or great ideas about the welcome

RESPECT LIFE
40 Days for Life (September 24th-November 2nd) is an
international effort to combat the injustice of abortion
through prayer and fasting, community outreach and
peaceful vigil. Participation can be as simple as a prayer
at home, but there are many ways to get involved in the
effort!

40 Days for Life Dallas Youth Day and Midway Rally

Families and youth are invited to join in a peaceful LIFE
balloon process to the new Dallas Planned Parenthood
mega abortion facility followed by a free picnic lunch and
rally featuring Missy Martinez from Students for Life of
America. Youth under 18 must be accompanied by a

La organización de Caridades
Católicas de Dallas recibe un
promedio de 32 familias/individuos
en el condado de Dallas que vienen como refugiados
políticos y se encarga de prepararles un lugar para vivir.
Hay una necesidad urgente de artículos como: Sábanas
tamaño individual (twin) / matrimonial (full), toallas, cobijas,
