CURRO & PONCHO se enorgullece en presentar la primera exposición individual en
México de Juan Capistrán (Guadalajara, 1976) "After Chaos Comes Eros… he is
stronger than his rock (I could be happy)".
El trabajo de Capistrán generalmente se enfoca en la creación de códigos binarios de
carácter social-filosófico bajo influencias diversas que van desde el punk rock hasta la
literatura existencialista. Continuando con una larga investigación relacionada con la
identidad nacional y los híbridos que surgen en este contexto es que Capistrán nos
muestra este nuevo cuerpo de trabajo, a través de un fatalista pero contradictoriamente
esperanzador punto de vista de la condición humana.
El presente proyecto propone tintes de reflexión e intimidad más personales acerca del
trabajo de Capistrán lo cual sin duda marcará un periodo importante y de relevancia
en su trabajo.

CURRO & PONCHO is pleased to present Juan Capistran's (Guadalajara, 1976) first
ever México solo show "After Chaos Comes Eros… he is stronger than his rock (I could
be happy)".
Capistran's work is generally focused on the creation of binary codes of a sociophilosophical nature with powerful and recurrent influences that go from punk rock to
existentialist literature. This new body of work extends his national identity based investigations and the hybrids that may derive from it to a fatalist yet hopeful conclusion of
the human condition.
The aforementioned project proposes a more reflective and introspective approach to
Capistran's practice a fact which will undoubtedly mark an important cornerstone on his
work.
