Each calibrator is sold separately and may be used with any reagent lot. The ready-for-use solutions
contain human urine, stabilizer, and 0.15% sodium azide, propoxyphene, and methadone.

Precautions and warnings
For In Vitro Diagnostic Use Only. The CEDIA PPX/METD Calibrators are prepared from nonsterile human
urine. These calibrators should be handled at Biosafety Level 2, as recommended for any potentially
infectious human serum, blood specimen, or urine in the Centers for Disease Control/National Institutes of
Health manual Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories, 1993. This product contains
sodium azide. Sodium azide may react with copper or lead in laboratory plumbing resulting in the formation
of potentially explosive metal azides. When disposing of reagents, flush with large volumes of water to
prevent azide accumulation. After contact with skin or eyes, wash immediately with plenty of water. Never
pipette by mouth. Avoid cross-contamination of calibrator levels. To do so, match colored calibrator caps to
the appropriately colored dropper tips.
Instructions for use
The calibrators are liquid and do not require reconstitution. Mix the contents of the vial before each use by
gently inverting the vial 2 - 3 times. Remove the cap and dispense the required quantity of the calibrator
into a sample cup as specified in the CEDIA Propoxyphene or Methadone application protocol or package
insert. Record the date that the calibrator was opened on the vial label.
Storage and Stability
Store calibrators at 2 - 8°C. DO NOT FREEZE.
Stability prior to opening the bottle: up to the printed expiration date
Stability after opening the bottle: 60 days or until the printed expiration date, whichever comes first.
Do not use the calibrators beyond the expiration date.

Qualitative Results
The CEDIA PPX/METD Cutoff Calibrator is used as a reference in distinguishing between positive and
negative samples. Samples producing a response value equal to or greater than the response value of the
calibrator are considered positive. Samples producing a response value less than the response value of
the calibrator are considered negative.
Semiquantitative Results
The CEDIA PPX/METD Cutoff Calibrator, when used in conjunction with the CEDIA Negative
Calibrator and the CEDIA PPX/METD Intermediate and High Calibrators, can be used to estimate
relative drug concentrations. Refer to the CEDIA Propoxyphene or Methadone Assay package
insert and application protocol for specific information.

The CEDIA PPX/METD Calibrators are intended for use solely as specified. Refer to the CEDIA
Propoxyphene or Methadone Assay package insert and instrument application protocol for specific
information.

Wichtige Hinweise zur Verwendung
In-vitro Diagnostikum. Die CEDIA PPX/METD Kalibratoren werden aus nicht sterilem, menschlichem Urin
hergestellt. Mit diesen Kalibratoren sollte bei Sicherheitsstufe 2 gearbeitet werden, gemäß Empfehlung des
Handbuchs “Biosafety in Microbiological Biomedical Laboratories, 1993 " der ”Centers for Disease Control/
National Institutes of Health" für potentielI infektiöses menschliches Serum, Blut oder Urin. Die Kalibratoren
enthalten Na-Azid, das mit Kupfer und Blei in Laborleitungen zur Bildung von möglicherweise explosiven
Metallaziden führen kann. Bei der Beseitigung der Reagenzien muß mit reichlich Wasser gespült werden,
um der Anlagerung von Aziden vorzubeugen. Nach Haut- und Augenkontakt sofort mit reichlich Wasser
abspülen. Niemals mit dem Mund pipettieren. Eine gegenseitige Kontamination der verschiedenen
Kalibratorkonzentrationen vermeiden. Dazu die farbigen Verschlüsse und die entsprechenden
Tropfendosierer zusammen verwenden.
Gebrauchsanweisung
Die flüssigen Kalibratoren sind gebrauchsfertig. Vor Testbeginn den Flascheninhalt durch zwei- bis
dreimaliges leichtes Schwenken mischen und das Volumen des Testbedarfs in ein Probengefäß abfüllen
wie in der betreffenden CEDlA Test-Propoxyhen- oder Methadon-Packungsbeilage und dem
Applikationsblatt angegeben. Das Datum der erstmaligen Öffnung der Flasche auf dem Etikett eintragen.
Lagerung und Haltbarkeit
Aufbewahrung bei 2-8 °C. NICHT EINFRIEREN
Haltbarkeit vor dem Öffnen der Flasche: bis zum aufgedruckten VerfalIsdatum
Haltbarkeit nach dem Öffnen der Flasche: 60 Tage, ggfs.-falls früher - bis zum aufgedruckten VerfalIsdatum.
Nach dem Verfallsdatum dürfen die Kalibratoren nicht mehr eingesetzt werden.
Durchführung der Bestimmungen
Die Durchführung der Bestimmungen ist den Packungsbeilagen der entsprechenden CEDIA Tests
Propoxyphen oder Methadon bzw. den Applikationsblättern zu entnehmen.

Qualitative Bestimmungen
Der CEDIA PPX/METD Cutoff-Kalibrator wird als Referenz zur Unterscheidung zwischen positiven und
negativen Proben verwendet. Proben, die ein Signal geben, das gleich oder größer ist als das Signal des
Kalibrators, sind als positiv anzusehen. Proben, die ein Signal geben, das kleiner ist als das Signal des

Halbquantitative Bestimmungen
Der CEDIA PPX/METD Cutoff-Kalibrator kann zusammen mit dem CEDIA PPX/METD Negativ-,
Zwischen- und Hoch-Kalibrator zur Abschätzung der Pharmakakonzentrationen verwendet werden. Näheres

Grenzen des Vertahrens
Die CEDlA PPX/METD Kalibratoren sind ausschließlich für die spezifizierten Anwendungen vorgesehen.

Applikationsblättern zu entnehmen.

Remarques importantes
Pour usage diagnostique in vitro. Les calibrateurs CEDIA PPX/METD sont preparés à base d’urine
humaine non sterile. Comme pour tout échantillon d’urine, de sérum ou de sang humains, ceux-ci doivent
être manipulés au niveau 2 des normes de sécurité comme potentiellement infectieux (Recommandations
du "Center for disease Control/National Institutes of Health" dans "Biosafety in Microbiological Biomedical
Laboratories", 1993). Les calibrateurs contiennent de l'azide de sodium qui peut réagir avec le plomb et le
cuivre de la tuyauterle du laboratoire et former des azides métalliques potentiellement explosifs. Lors de
l’évacuation des réactifs dans les canalisations, faire couler abondamment l'eau pour eviter toute
accumulation d’azide. En cas de contact cutaine ou oculaire, rincer abondamment avec de l’eau. Ne jamais
pipeter avec la bouche. Eviter la contamination des différents calibrateurs en n’utilisant ensemble que les
bouchons et les compte-gouttes d’une même couleur.
Mode opératoire
Les calibrateurs liquides sont prêts à l'emploi. Avant l'analyse, mélanger le contenu du flacon par 2-3
retournements successifs, puis verser le volume nécessaire pour le test dans un tube à essai en se
conformant aux instructions de la notice et de la fiche technique du test CEDIA Propoxyphène ou
Méthadone correspondant.
Noter sur l'etiquette la date de la première ouverture du flacon.
Conservation
Entre +2 et +8 °C. NE PAS CONGELER.
Conservation avant ouverture de flacon: jusqu'à la date de péremption indiquée.
Conservation après ouverture du flacon: 60 jours ou jusqu’à la date de péremption indiquée
Les calibrateurs ne doivent pas être utilisés au-delà de la date de péremption.

Déterminatlon qualitative
Les calibrateurs PPX/METD seuil, moyen et haut servent de réference pour la différenciation des
échantillons positifs et négatifs. Les résultats supérieus ou égaux au calibrateur sont considérés comme
positifs. Les résultats inférieurs au calibrateur sont considérés comme négatifs.
Détermination semi-quantitative
Les calibrateurs CEDIA PPX/METD peuvent être uitilisés avec les calibrateurs negatif, moyen et haut pour
l’évaluation des concentrations. Pour plus de renseignements se reférer à la notice et à la fiche technique

Limites du test
Les calibrateurs CEDIA PPX/METD sont exclusivement conçus pour les applications specifiées. Pour plus

Diagnóstico in vitro. Los calibradores CEDIA PPX/METD se preparan con orina humana no estéril. Al
trabajar con estos calibradores debe observarse el nivel de seguridad 2 según las recomendaciones del
manual“Biosafety in Microbiological Biomedical Laboratories, 1993" del Centers for Disease Control/
National Institutes of Health para suero, sangre y orina humanos potencialmente infecciosos.
Los calibradores contienen azida sódica que puede reaccionar con el cobre y el plomo contenidos en las
cañerías del laboratorio o formando azidas metálicas posiblemente explosivas. Al desechar los reactivos
deje correr mucha agua para evitar el depósito de azidas. En caso del contacto con la piel y las mucosas
lavar inmediatamente con agua abundante. Nunca pipetear con la boca.
Evitar una contaminación recíproca de las diferentes concentraciones de los calibradores. Para ello
emplear juntos las tapas de color y los correspondientes dosificadores cuentagotas.

urina potenzialmente infettivo. I calibratori contengono sodioazide, che in presenza del rame o del piombo
delle tubazioni del laboratorio potrebbe formare azotidrati di metallo potenzialmente esplosivi. Quando si
eliminano i reattivi, sciacquare abbondantemente per evitare l'accumulo di azotidrati. In caso di contatto
con la pelle o con gli occhi sciacquare subito abbondantemente. Mai pipettare usando la bocca.
Evitare la contaminazione reciproca dei diversi reattivi, usando tappi e contagocce del medesimo colore.
Instrucciones de uso
I calibratori allo stato liquido sono pronti all'uso.
Prima del test, mescolare il contenuto del flacone agitandolo leggermente 2-3 volte e versare la quantitá
richiesta in una provetta come indicato nelle specifiche del Test CEDIA Propossifene o Metadone e nella
scheda di applicazione. Annotare la data di apertura del flacone sull'etichetta.
Los calibradores líquidos están listos para el uso. Antes de efectuar el test mezclar el contenido de los
frascos agitando ligeramente 2 ó 3 veces y verter el volumen necesario para el test en un tubo primario
según las instrucciones indicadas en la correspondiente metódica del test CEDIA Propoxifeno o
Metadona y en la hoja de aplicación.
Al abrir un nuevo frasco anotar la fecha en la etiqueta del frasco.
Conservación y estabilidad
Conservar a +2-8°C. NO CONGELAR
Estabilidad antes de abrir el frasco: hasta la fecha de caducidad indicada.
Estabilidad después de abrir el frasco: 60 días pero solamente hasta la fecha de caducidad indicada.

Determinaciones cualitativas
El calibrador CEDIA PPX/METD sirve de referencia para distinguir entre muestras positivas y negativas.

Il calibratore CEDIA PPX/METD d’arresto viene usato come riferimento quando si tratta di distinguere tra
campioni positivi e campioni negativi. Sono considerati positivi i campioni aventi un valore uguale o
maggiore del valore del calibratore selezionato. I campioni aventi un valore inferiore al callbratore sono
considerati negativi.
