Este tradicional Restaurante abrió sus puertas en el año 1947, cuando
se acababa de pavimentar la actual ruta 5 Sur. El origen de su peculiar
nombre se debe a la idea de su fundadora, la señora Ana Miranda Carreño,
de bautizar a este, con el apodo que tenía su esposo, el señor
Juan Barrera Macías. Don Juan y Medio se ganó este apelativo
por
su
gran
altura
y
peso
(1,94
mt.
Y

kilos).
Este robusto personaje tenía un gran apetito, lo cual se reflejaba en la
abundancia de los platos que su señora acostumbraba a servirle, que
son los mismos que hasta hoy se siguen sirviendo en este Restaurante,
conocido por su excelente comida típica tanto en nuestro país
como en el extranjero.
