Dear Friends in Christ, Bishop Kevin Vann of our Diocese of Orange, has encouraged that each parish develops a Pastoral Plan. Within this Pastoral Plan, we are beginning a new Stewardship Program to help us become more committed disciples of Christ. Therefore, I am inviting all of you as parishioners of our Parish to attend an evening session with Debbie Leaverton from the Diocesan Office, Orange Catholic Foundation. She will be presenting on the “Spirituality of Stewardship as a way of Life.” Sincerely in Christ, When: Monday, November 14, 2016 Time: 7:00pm to 9:00pm Where: St. Matthew’s Room 101 Rev. Bill Cao, Administrator Debbie Leaverton has served the Diocese of Orange since 2001. She manages the diocesan pastoral services appeal, is responsible for parish stewardship education and provides consultation for parishes on capital campaigns, electronic giving and annual renewals. In 2008, Bishop Tod Brown incorporated all Stewardship and philanthropic advancement efforts under the Orange Catholic Foundation, under which she now serves as Director of Parish Stewardship Education and the Pastoral Services Appeal. Debbie also currently serves on the International Catholic Stewardship Council Board of Directors where she works with other diocesan directors to promote Christian Stewardship. At her home parish of St. Martin de Porres in Yorba Linda, she has served in the areas of SRE, teaching elementary, junior high, Confirmation and Youth Ministry. She also served in women’s ministry and the local pregnancy center, Birth Choice. Debbie and her husband are members of a Small Christian Community and served as Eucharistic Coordinators for several years. Debbie started the Stewardship Committee at St. Martin’s in 2005 and continues to help out with the committee when needed.
