Efrain Bautista, Pastor Rev. Minh Do, Associate Pastor Rev. Phuoc Nguyen, In Residence PASTORAL ASSISTANTS: Deacon Ron Arnold Deacon Robert Mueller, DDS Deacon Loi Hoang Deacon Pedro Enciso This w__k [t St. Fr[n]is In Gr[titu^_ As we come to this last weekend of the year, I have been thinking of how this year has been, not only for me, but also for our entire parish community here at St. Francis, and our diocese. This year we were blessed as parish community to receive one of the newly ordained priests as our Associate Pastor, Fr. Minh Do. In addition to Fr. Minh, with the departure of both Fr. Peter and Fr. Jay in the beginning of July, we have been blessed with priests to assists us here at St. Francis during these last 6 months. We have been blessed with Fr. Kevin over the summer and the arrival of Fr. Arnel and Fr. Bart in the fall. In addition to these great priests who have helped us out over the last few months, this past week our Diocesan Administrator, Msgr. Callahan appointed Fr. Ben Awongo as our new Associate Pastor and Tri City Hospital Chaplain! Many of you might remember Fr. Ben who was with us last spring for a few months. Fr. Ben has spent the last few years in Rome studying Scripture, obtaining his doctorate in Biblical Theology a few months ago at my own Alma Mater, the Pontifical Gregorian University. I invite you to take some time to greet Fr. Ben and welcome him into our parish community as he begins his ministry here at St. Francis. Hence, as we come to the close of 2014, I invite you to join me in taking a moment to thank our Lord for the good work He has done in our community. It is important to realize that while our Lord has done great work in us this year, He has not finished yet and 2015 promises to be an even greater year, as our God will continue to bestow His blessing on each of us. May each of us continue to work to build up the Kingdom in this part of our Lord’s vineyard. With my prayers for the New Year, Fr. The ABCs of Fostering, Supporting and Nurturing Vocations within the Home Have a priest come and bless your home. Have your younger children make a cross to hang in each bedroom in your home. Include the diocesan vocation prayer in your per sonal and family prayer, especially on Wednesdays. Invite a priest, brother or sister to dinner or to an outing with your family. Join together in prayer as a family; include a short vocations prayer when you pray before meals (especially on Wednesday). Keep an eye open for TV shows and movies that present Gospel-centered role models. Watch them with your children and engage in a discussion. Let your children notice an attitude of openness to God's will in you. Make time for teenagers in your life: your children and their friends, nieces and nephews, babysitters, etc. Name the gifts of each family member on their birthday. Express gratitude for these gifts.
