In conjunction with the release of the new movie Big Hero 6, the folks at Disney challenged children all across the nation to come up with an invention that would make the world a better place. Dominick Quaye submitted a video of his design for High Altitude Power Generation, an invention that proposes to have windmills suspended by balloons high up in the air. This invention could help us create renewable energy in order to address the problem of global warming and climate change. Amazing work Dominic! You’ve made your Roosevelt family proud! Specifically, we are looking for the following types of substitute employees: · Substitute Teachers · Substitute Para Educators · Substitute Custodians All interested individuals must possess a current TB test and pass a CA Department of Justice Live Scan Criminal Background Check. Substitute teachers must also possess a valid CA Credential or 30 Day Substitute Teaching Permit. Plastic Bags for the Front Office We’re in need of Plastic bags for wet clothes during this rainy season. Please keep us in mind over the holiday’s if you get plastic bags while shopping. We’d greatly appreciate it. Dear Room A-1, 2 and 10 Families, We are writing to inform you in advance that our “Special Person’s Day on Friday, November 21st will be our public sharing of our Project Based Learning presentations. This will be our first run through and we ask that you join us in the multi-purpose room from 9:00-10:00. We will have the entire third grade as well as District Office visitors and other Roosevelt classes listening to our presentations, viewing our posters etc… We need our audience to listen carefully to see if they learned something about our DRIVING QUESTION or DQ! Our DQ is “How can we as Peacemakers, create a safe school environment for every student at Roosevelt?” Due to these changes in our schedule, we will hold “Special Person’s Day” in room A4 from 8:00-9:00. Rooms 4 and 10 will hold “special Person’s Day” from 10:00-11:00. All guests and visiting classes are invited to view PBL presentations. Your Third Grade Team, Mr. Moy, Ms. Papciak and Mrs. Fishbaugh Special Person/Grandparent day Roosevelt Elementary School Friday, November 21st, 2014 Dear Families, Special Person/Grandparent Day is an opportunity for the students to ask a family member, neighbor or special friend to visit their classroom and share a memory of childhood, bring a photograph, musical instrument or a favorite story to read to the class. Each class will provide refreshments and snacks for their guests during the visit. Guests may also enjoy a hot beverage and get classroom directions at our greeting station in the main hallway. We would like to encourage every student to invite a special person to his or her class for this celebration of family and friends.
