World Mission Sunday
This weekend is World Mission Sunday. In
Scripture, we read that St. Paul asked the Gentile
Churches to take up a collection to support the
Church in Jerusalem. Now we are asked to reach out
and support the young churches throughout our
world.
Your prayers and generous gifts to the
Society for the Propagation of the Faith in this
weekend's collection will help missionaries offer the
poor of these areas practical help as they share the
mercy of God. It will ensure the development of the
local diocese, and support the work of priests,
religious, and lay leaders who serve those on the
margins and in most need.
Prayer For Those Seeking Public Office
With the upcoming November elections in
which candidates are seeking to serve our national
government in public office, may we remember to
pray for them and our nation in the remaining time
leading up to Election Day on November 8 th.
Almighty ever-living God,
in whose hand lies every human heart
and the rights of peoples,
look with favor, we pray,
on those who are seeking to govern
with authority over us,
that throughout the whole world
the prosperity of peoples,
the assurance of peace,
and freedom of religion
may through your gift be made secure.
We make this prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Votive Mass For Those in Public Office
Roman Missal
St. Luke and the Jubilee Year of Mercy
During this liturgical year of the Church,
referred to as Year C, we have been reading and
listening to Gospel passages from St.. Luke. The
church commemorates St. Luke each year on October
18th.
St. Luke was a Syrian physician from
Antioch and joined St. Paul as a missionary
companion to the Gentiles. He is the author the third
Gospel and its sequel, The Acts of the Apostles. The
Gospel of St. Luke has been described as the "Gospel
of Mercy" with parables unique only to that gospel
(The Lost Coin, Prodigal Son, The Good Samaritan,
The Rich Man Lazarus, The Persistent Widow).
During this Jubilee Year of Mercy, the Gospel of St.
Luke reminds us about God's unbounded mercy and
compassion toward all.
All Souls Masses
The month of November is traditionally a
time to remember and to pray for our beloved dead.
Beginning on Wednesday November 2nd and
continuing through November 10th, a novena of
Masses will be offered for the faithful departed.
Please make use of the specially marked envelopes
that are available in the Church and return them in
the parish collection or at the office prior to
November 2nd.
2017 Mass Intentions
Parish Mass Intentions for 2017 may be
scheduled at the parish office. As a way to enable
those who wish to schedule intentions at parish
Masses, the initial limit will be 12 scheduled Masses
per family. The offering is $15.00.
Parish Outreach Mission During Year of Mercy
During this Jubilee Year of Mercy, the parish
priests (Fr. Kerrigan, Fr. Antonio, and Msgr.
McManus) would like to make ourselves available to
assist anyone who is not presently participating fully
in the sacramental life of the Church and would like
to discuss the possibility of how to do so. Receiving
the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist is a way to
experience God's mercy, love, and forgiveness.
Perhaps, you have been married civilly and
would like to see how having your marriage
celebrated in the church, need time to speak about
some past hurt or it has been quite some time since
you last went to confession. Please know that we are
available and would like to help those who are
presently not receiving Holy Communion and desire
to do so. Consider taking the first step in contacting
one of us to schedule an appointment. As the
Gospels remind us, people sought out Jesus to
experience the merciful Father's forgiveness.
Archdiocesan Program Announced by
Cardinal Dolan
On October 6th, Cardinal Dolan announced
the Independent Reconciliation and Compensation
Program, designed to help bring healing and
reconciliation to those who are victim-survivors of
sexual abuse by members of the clergy of the
Archdiocese of New York. It is hoped that this
program will continue to help bring a measure of
peace to those who have suffered abuse by a member
of the clergy of the archdiocese. Copies of Cardinal
Dolan's letter about this program, both in English and
Spanish, are available in the Church and posted on
the church bulletin board.

Notices and flyers of local area upcoming
events and activities, that are often not included in
our parish bulletin due to space limitation, are posted
on the church bulletin boards. A number schools are
hosting "open houses" this month. You may wish to
take the time to read them and perhaps something
may interest you.
Altar Servers
Young members of our parish (boys, girls
and adolescents who have already received First Holy
Communion and are regularly attending Mass) are
invited to consider the possibility of becoming parish
altar servers. If interested, please contact our pastoral
year seminarian, Mr. Guillermo Villatoro.
Domingo Mundial de las Misiones
Este fin de semana es la Jornada Misionera
Mundial. En la Escritura, leemos que St. Paul les
pidió a los iglesias gentiles para tomar una colecta
para apoyar a la Iglesia en Jerusalén. Ahora se nos
pide para alcanzar y sostener a las Iglesias jóvenes en
todo el mundo.
Sus oraciones y generosos regalos a la
Sociedad para la Propagación de la Fe en la colección

San Lucas y el Año Jubilar de la Misericordia
Durante este año litúrgico de la Iglesia, se
hace referencia como Año C, hemos estado leyendo y
escuchando pasajes del Evangelio de San Lucas ... La
iglesia conmemora San Lucas cada año el 18 de
octubre.
San Lucas fue un médico sirio de Antioquía
y se unió a St. Paul como un compañero de misión a
los gentiles. Él es el autor del tercer Evangelio y su
secuela, Los Hechos de los Apóstoles. El Evangelio
de San Lucas ha sido descrito como el "Evangelio de
la Misericordia", con parábolas exclusivas para ese
Evangelio (La Moneda Perdida, Hijo Pródigo, El
Buen Samaritano, El Hombre Rico Lázaro, La Viuda
Persistente). Durante este año jubilar de la
Misericordia, el Evangelio de San Lucas nos recuerda
acerca de la misericordia infinita de Dios y la
compasión hacia todos.
Misas de Todas las Almas
El mes de noviembre es tradicionalmente un
tiempo para recordar y orar por nuestros difuntos. A
partir del miércoles 2º de noviembre y continuando
hasta el 10 de noviembre una novena de misas será
ofrecido por los fieles difuntos. Por favor haga uso de
los sobres especialmente marcados que están
disponibles en la Iglesia y devolverlos en la colección
de la parroquia o en la oficina antes del 2 de

2017 Intenciones de Misa
Las intenciones de misa de la parroquia para

Como una manera de permitir que aquellos que
deseen programar intenciones de misas de la
parroquia, el límite inicial será de 12 misas

Programa Arquidiocesano Anunciado por
El cardenal Dolan
El 6 de octubre, el cardenal Dolan anunció el
Programa de Reconciliación y compensación
independiente, diseñado para ayudar a la curación y
la reconciliación a aquellos que son víctimas
sobrevivientes de abuso sexual por miembros del
clero de la Arquidiócesis de Nueva York. Se espera
que este programa continuará ayudando a traer un
poco de paz a aquellos que han sufrido abuso por
parte de un miembro del clero de la arquidiócesis.
Copias de la carta del Cardenal Dolan sobre este
programa, tanto en Inglés y español, están
disponibles en la Iglesia y se publicarán en el tablón

Misión de Extensión Parroquial
Durante el Año de la Misericordia
Con el Año Jubilar de la Misericordia en
