Mind the gap es una serie de 41 dibujos
realizados de manera documental en seis
ciudades de Europa durante el mes de
noviembre de 2010. En este sentido, invitan
a su lectura como un diario de viajero.

Mind the gap is a series of 41 ink drawings
elaborated as a documentary in six cities of
Europe during November, 2010. In these
regards, they can be read as a traveler’s
diary
diary.
Buscando poner de manifiesto la estrecha
relación existente entre la obra y su
entorno, cada composición se realizó
literalmente delineando total o parcialmente
objetos,
vehículos,
construcciones,
mobiliario urbano, monumentos etc.
encontrados
en
cada
lugar.
Ésta
metodología explora la forma en que la
realidad observada en el día a día se ve
reflejada en nuestras acciones, al tiempo que
también permite rescatar y conservar la
geometría de objetos con valor simbólico y
experimentar con diferentes propiedades
como recursos visuales.
Looking for a way to reveal the tight
linkage between an artwork and its
environment, each composition was made
by literally delineating objects, vehicles,
constructions,
street
furniture,
monuments, etc. found in each city. This
methodology explores the way in which
the observed reality has a direct influence
in our actions, as well as it gives us the
opportunity to rescue and conserve the
geometry of objects with symbolic value
and experiment with its diverse properties
as visual resources.

Ernesto Walker (Méx., 1982)
Radica y trabaja en la ciudad de Monterrey .
Su obra se caracteriza por la exploración de
la abstracción como una forma de traducir
el mundo a su alrededor. Manteniendo un
esmerado respeto y fascinación por el
parcialmente descifrable funcionamiento del
individuo en sociedad,
sociedad sus piezas buscan
conservar un grado de misterio, dejando de
lado la búsqueda de explicaciones y
promoviendo
la
práctica
de
la
contemplación como fin y no como medio.
Hasta el momento, cuenta con 5
exposiciones individuales, 12 colectivas y 4 a
nivel internacional.

based in Monterrey (MX). His artwork is
characterized by the exploration of
abstraction as a way to encode and visually
translate the reality around us. Feeling
attracted by the partially understandable
way in which human beings behaves in
society his pieces always keeps some sort
society,
of a mystery, leaving the search for
explanations in second place and
promoting the exercise of contemplation
as and end itself and not as a mean to
something else. He has 5 solo exhibitions
and participated in 12 group exhibits,
including 4 at an international level.
Es ganador de la beca PACMyC otorgada en
el 2009 por el Consejo para la Cultura y las
Artes (CONACULTA),. A partir de enero
del 2011 se integra como profesor de
cátedra para el departamento de artes del
Tec de Monterrey.
He is recipient of the PACMyC scholarship
given by the Arts and Culture National
Council of Mexico (CONACULTA), In
January 2011, he will join the Tec de
Monterrey Institute as Professor for the
Arts Department.
