Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord
Matthew 2:1-2, 9-12
While the wise men open their coffers and poor out lavish
gifts before the Christ child on this feast of the Epiphany,
the most precious gift is God’s desire to take on our
human nature. This is the real epiphany: God’s perfect
love. The word “epiphany” is equated with an “AHA”
moment. However, the celebration of the Epiphany of the
Lord is more about what God accomplishes in His
self-manifestation than it is about the magi following the
star. How might we be more grateful for the gift of God’s
presence in our lives?

FAMILY MINISTRY
FREEDOM When we forgive someone, we
benefit from the forgiveness, not the other person. They may never be aware that we have
forgiven them. It doesn't matter. Their ultimate
forgiveness is between them and God. Forgiving someone is essential to our healing because it is an intentional letting go of all the hurt, anger, and injustice committed
by the other person. While we would be justified in holding this
person hostage to their transgression, our decision to let it all
go is a great act of mercy that sets us free. Letting go of our
"right" to retribution, frees us from our own self-induced bondage to the pain from the past. If we don't let go, it saps the life
out of us as we drag around this heavy burden. We get stuck
in our past by reliving it everyday. And, like a wound that we
keep pulling the scab off of, we never heal. The most loving
act we can do for ourselves is to forgive those that have hurt
us. Only then can we heal and be truly free to live and love.
Then Peter came up and said to Jesus, "Lord, how often shall my
brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven
times?" Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you seven times, but
seventy times seven. - Matthew 18:21-22

magos que vinieron del oriente a rendir homenaje a Jesus,
el rey recién nacido. La historia de los magos ensena a los
corresponsables cristianos tres verdades de la Navidad:
primera, Dios, en la persona de Jesucristo, esta presente y
activo en el mundo, y los buenos corresponsables luchan
diariamente para seguir su estrella. Segunda, cada uno de
nosotros, no importan nuestras circunstancias o la etapa
de nuestra vida, tiene un don para llevar al Senor. Y
finalmente, el camino de nuestra vida nos conduce siempre
a Cristo, aun cuando a veces desconozcamos hacia donde
nos lleva el camino.

Durante el tiempo de la construcción del nuevo pabellón de nuestra iglesia, ofrecemos estacionamiento para
personas con discapacidad en tres localidades de nuestro
edificio: en el lado sur del estacionamiento de la
iglesia junto a la escuela, en el estacionamiento
de la escuela junto a la oficina de educación
religiosa y los lugares ya existentes en el estacionamiento de la escuela al lado del área de recreo.
Para las personas que necesiten un acceso más cercano a
la entrada principal de la iglesia hemos abierto la plaza.
Para que el tráfico sea fluido y todos aquellos que necesiten entrar y salir de la iglesia, los vehículos no podrán estacionarse en la plaza.
