Air Conditioning in the Church: The air conditioning system is hard at work keeping our church cool so please dress comfortably for Mass. If you are cold natured, we suggest bringing a jacket or sweater with you. There is no way to easily adjust the temperature during Mass or maintain a constant temperature in all areas of the church. The blower is essentially on or off, and when it is off, the church becomes warm rather quickly, especially around the altar and in the narthex and balcony. Thank you for your understanding! If the PARENTS are not members of the Cathedral, a letter from the parish in which the parents reside or are registered must be presented, giving permission for the child to be baptized at Saint Mary Cathedral. This must be done prior to registration for Baptism. Copy of the state birth certificate or hospital birth certificate for the child being baptized. Single godparents must be practicing Catholics living according to the norms of the Church. Married couples serving as godparents must be married by the Catholic Church. Parents and godparents must attend a Baptismal Preparation class prior to the Baptism. If the class is taken in another parish, proof of attendance must be presented. Godparents must have received all the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation. All Baptism documents must be received in the office before a Baptism date can be set. Dress—Dress in long sleeves and pants when outdoors (especially at dawn and dusk) 3. Drain—Drain standing water around home (such as flowerpots, pet dishes, buckets, and bird baths). Mosquito bites may cause illness. Most people that get a mosquito disease will not feel sick, but some cases can cause serious illness or death. Children, elderly and those with certain health conditions may be at a higher risk of getting sick if they become infected.
