THE CARDINAL’S ANNUAL APPEAL
To date, 105 parishioners pledged $20,152.00 toward our
goal of $22,500.00. We still need $2,348.00 to reach our
goal. If you have not yet made your pledge to the 2013
Cardinal’s Annual Appeal, it is not too late to do so.
Please make a sacrificial offering to help our parish reach
our goal, and perhaps even to exceed it! It is the
responsibility of all and not just some parishioners to take
seriously Cardinal Dolan’s request and to contribute to the
Appeal.
MONTH OF OUR LADY
May is traditionally dedicated to Our Blessed Mother.
Our parish shall honor Our Lady in the following ways:
 Each Saturday of the month of May, beginning May
4, the 7:30 a.m. Mass will be offered outdoors at the
Lourdes Grotto, weather permitting. This will be
followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary and
the Litany of Our Lady.
 On Monday, May 6, our parish will host a regional
Marian Movement of Priests Cenacle in English. It
will begin with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at
7:00 p.m. followed by the Rosary and the Cenacle
prayers. As we are the only parish in the State of
New York hosting this event, a large number of
people are expected to attend. More detailed
information will be given in future issues of the
bulletin.
 On Monday, May 13, the Feast of Our Lady of
Fatima, there will be an outdoor candlelight Rosary
Procession with the statue of Our Lady of Fatima
through the streets of the parish beginning at 7:00
p.m. The 15 mysteries of the Rosary will be recited
in English and Spanish, followed by the
Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament. All
parish societies and parishioners are encouraged to
attend.
WORLDWIDE MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER
“My sheep hear my voice”...Come away for a weekend to
listen to God’s voice and His plan for your marriage or
Holy orders. The next two Worldwide Marriage Encounter

THE GOOD SHEPHERD
The Good Shepherd not only knows us but has
given his life for us. We belong to the Shepherd. His life is
the source of our life. One part of this relationship is
firm—God’s part. The Father has entrusted us to the Son,
and the Son will not let go of our hand.
The other part of this relationship depends on us,
of course. In today’s Gospel, Jesus assumes our openhearted good will. “My sheep hear my voice . . . and they
follow me.” This hearing and following is a daily
undertaking that implies responsibility. Take Paul and
Barnabas, for example. They moved ever closer to the
reality that salvation was also meant for those members of
the flock who did not yet know God’s saving power. The
Gentiles were the sheep known by the Shepherd. Paul
could finally see that now was the acceptable time for them
to know the Shepherd. Now the circle could be completed.
Finally, those who were known and loved by the God of
Jesus could know and follow the God of Jesus. There will
never be a last chapter to this story of salvation.
TODAY’S READINGS
First Reading — The word of the Lord continued to
spread through the whole region (Acts 13:14, 43-52).
Psalm — We are his people, the sheep of his flock
(Psalm 100).
Second Reading — I had a vision of a great multitude
(Revelation 7:9, 14b-17).
Gospel — My sheep hear my voice; I know them and
give them eternal life (John 10:27-30).
OUR GIFT SHOP is located in the rear of the church for

ST. ANTHONY ANNEX RENTALS
Parishioners are invited to rent the Annex Cafeteria for
various functions such as Baptisms, Confirmations, Weddings, etc. Rentals can be on Saturday or Sunday. Contact

COLECTA ANUAL DEL CARDENAL
Hasta la fecha, 105 feligreses comprometieron
$20,152.00 hacia nuestra meta de $22.500,00. Todavía
necesitamos $2,348.00 para alcanzar nuestra meta. Si
todavía no ha hecho su promesa para la Campaña
Anual del Cardenal de 2013, no es demasiado tarde
para hacerlo. Por favor haga un sacrificio para ayudar a
nuestra parroquia a alcanzar nuestra meta y quizás
incluso a superarla! Es responsabilidad de todos y no
sólo algunos feligreses a tomar en serio la petición del
cardenal Dolan y contribuir a la apelación.
MES DE NUESTRA SEÑORA
Mayo es tradicionalmente dedicado a nuestra Santísima
Madre. Nuestra parroquia honrará nuestra Señora de las
siguientes maneras:
 Cada sábado del mes de mayo, comenzando el 4 de
mayo, 7:30 a.m. La misa se ofrecerá al aire libre en
la Gruta de Lourdes, si el tiempo lo permite. Esto
será seguido de la recitación del Rosario Santo y la
Letanía de Nuestra Señora.
 El lunes, 6 de mayo, nuestra parroquia recibirá al
movimiento Marian regional de sacerdotes
Cenáculo en inglés. Comenzará con el Santo
sacrificio de la Misa a las 7:00 p.m. seguido por el
Rosario y las oraciones de Cenáculo. Como somos
la única parroquia en el estado de Nueva York que
recibe este acontecimiento, se espera un gran
número de personas que asistan. Información más
detallada se dará en las próximas ediciones del
boletín.
 El lunes,13 de Mayo, la Fiesta de la Virgen de
Fátima, habrá una Procesión del Rosario con velas
al aire libre por las calles de la parroquia que
comienza a las 7:00 p.m. Los 15 misterios del
Rosario serán recitados en inglés y español, seguido
por la bendición del Santísimo Sacramento. Todas
las sociedades de la parroquia y los feligreses estan
invitado a asistir.
EL BUEN PASTOR
El Buen Pastor no sólo nos conoce sino que da su
vida por nosotros. Le pertenecemos. Su vida es la fuente
de nuestra vida. Una parte de esta relación es firme –la
parte de Dios. El Padre nos ha confiado al Hijo, y el Hijo
no nos soltará la mano.
La otra parte de esa relación depende de nosotros,
por supuesto. En el Evangelio de hoy, Jesús asume que
aceptamos su voluntad con el corazón abierto. “Mis ovejas
oyen mi voz… y me siguen”. Este oír y seguir es una tarea
diaria que implica responsabilidad. Tomemos por ejemplo
a Pablo y a Bernabé. Ambos estaban convencidos de que la
salvación era también para aquellos miembros del rebaño
que aún no conocían el poder salvador de Dios. Los gentiles eran las ovejas que el Pastor conocía. Pablo pudo finalmente ver que ahora era el momento oportuno para ellos
conocer al Pastor. Ahora el círculo se cerraría. Finalmente,
aquellos a quienes el Dios de Jesús conocía y amaba, podrían conocer y seguir al Dios de Jesús. Nunca habrá un último capítulo en esta historia de salvación.
LECTURAS DE HOY
Primera lectura — La palabra de Dios se iba propagando por toda la región (Hechos 13:14, 43-52).
Salmo — El Señor es nuestro Dios y nosotros su pueblo,
confío. Aleluya (Salmo 100 [99]).
Segunda lectura — Juan tiene la visión de una multitud
en vestiduras blancas (Apocalipsis 7:9, 14b-17).

para el Día de la Madres en el gimnasio. Todos están invitados a asistir.
ALQUILES DEL ANEXO DE SAN ANTONIO
Los feligreses están invitados a alquilar la cafeteria del
anexo de San Antonio para eventos de la communidad
como Bautismos, Confirmaciones, Bodas, etc. Los
alquiles se pueden hacer Sabado o Domingo. Para mas
