WHAT’S IN YOUR HEART?
Though the Letter to the Hebrews talks a lot about Jesus the High Priest, the perfect and holy
one, it does not ignore his humanity; in fact, the book embraces it. Jesus “was in the flesh”
and prayed “with loud cries and tears.” Jesus knew what it was like to be a human being. He
experienced fear and anguish. Yet his faith in “the one who was able to save him from death”
carried him through and even made him the source of eternal life for all.
What uncertainties and fears do you face? How can faith in God transform them? How can
you be a source of strength and encouragement for others?
PAG E TW O
FROM THE PASTOR
Jesus did not come to do away with suffering or remove it. He
came to fill it with His presence. – PAUL CLAUDELL
My Dear Parish Family,
Every year I find myself wondering whether the old saying
about “March roaring in like a lion and leaving like a lamb”
will be a reality. Believe me, after all the winter snows, I am
hoping for some mild weather as we slide into Spring.
And with the advent (yes) of Spring, we know that Easter is just
around the corner. As I mentioned in my talk on Wednesday
night, the services/liturgies of Holy Week are filled with beauty
and mystery as we celebrate the awesome gift of our faith. The
Sacred Triduum is made up of Holy Thursday, Good Friday
and Holy Saturday. I hope you all will make plans to join in
some or all of the liturgies. Over the years, I have heard so
many comments from people who had never before attended. In
variably they told me they were glad they made the commitment. Remember, in addition to the evening liturgies, we also
have morning prayer on each day, followed by the Sacrament
of Confession.
I am so grateful to all of you who supported the Ronan Tynan
concert this week. It was wonderful to share this great event
with all in attendance and to experience the joy his performance
brought.
God bless you.
Fr. Scott

THE ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL — IN ACTION (Bishop’s Annual Appeal)
Ministry of Consecrated Life
We represent membership in approximately 47 male/female religious congregations who have dedicated our lives to announce and proclaim the word of the Lord. Prior to 1970’s, religious served the needs of the Church via education, health
care and orphanages. Additional ministries are essential to our service today. While the physical appearance might not be
easily recognizable today, the face of God is evident in the many paths and journeys taken daily by those who have dedicated their life to further announce and proclaim the Word of God. Your gift promotes those called to serve.

Santo.
