Carmina Burana,
el acontecimiento más esperado
El Teatro Campoamor se prepara para recibir una de las grandes
obras de la historia de la música, "Carmina Burana". Interpretada por
la compañía catalana "La Fura dels Baus", que vuelve a Oviedo después de 20 años, y con música de la Orquesta "Oviedo Filarmonía",
bajo la dirección de Marzio Conti, está predestinada a ser uno de los
mayores acontecimientos culturales del año en Oviedo.
La cantata escénica compuesta por Carl Orff a principios de los
años 30 en Alemania se representará durante los días 12 y 13 de
julio, bajo el particular prisma de la la Fura, y contará también con
la presencia del "Orfeón pamplonés" y un nutrido grupo de ovetenses que formarán un gran coro que cantará en la representación.
Tras este evento de repercusión internacional, Oviedo festeja la
temporada estival con numerosos conciertos y música en la calle.
A destacar especialmente, el día 2 de agosto, dentro del "Festival
de Verano: Oviedo es Música" el Concierto de la Joven Orquesta
Nacional de España, en el Auditorio Príncipe Felipe. y el día 30, el
Concierto de Oviedo Filarmonía, dirigido por César Álvarez.

Carmina Burana,
the most awaited event
The Campoamor Theatre is getting ready to welcome one of
the greatest works in the history of music, "Carmina Burana".
Performed by the Catalan company, "La Fura dels Baus", who
return to Oviedo after 20 years, and with music by the “Oviedo
Philharmonic” Orchestra conducted by Marzio Conti, is predestined
to be one of the biggest cultural events of the year in Oviedo.
The enacted cantata composed by Carl Orff at the start of the 30`s
in Germany will be performed on the 12th and 13th of July, under
the Fura’s particular point of view, and it will count on the presence of the “Pamplona Choral Society” and a large group of Oviedo
people who will form part of the large choir that will sing in the
performance.
After this event with international repercussions, Oviedo will
celebrate the summer season with numerous concerts
and street music. We would especially highlight the
2nd of August, within the “Summer Festival”:
“Oviedo is Music" the Concert given by the
Spanish National Youth Orchestra in
the Príncipe Felipe Auditorium.
And on the 30th, the Oviedo
Philharmonic

Una temporada extraordinaria
para el 15 aniversario
La temporada musical 2013/2014, de la que ya se conocen
los avances, se presenta extraordinaria, con una programación especial en el Auditorio Príncipe Felipe que en primavera cumplirá sus primeros 15 años de vida, convertido en el
equipamiento socio cultural de mayor actividad de Oviedo y
de Asturias. El mismo aniversario con pocos meses de adelanto cumple la orquesta Oviedo Filarmonía, ahora dirigida
por el maestro Marzio Conti.
Entre los conciertos progamados se podrían destacar una gala Verdi-Wagner
con Emily Magee y Klaus Florian Vogt, el regreso de la Kremerata Báltica, el barítono Thomas Hampson con la Camerata de Amsterdam, el Orfeon Donostiarra
con la Orquesta Sinfónica del Capitole de Touluse, el Bach Collegium de Japón,
la Sinfónica de Montreal, dirigida por Kent Nagano, la Orquesta de la Radio de
Baviera dirigida por Gustavo Dudamel, un recital de Elina Garanca, la pianista
Maria Joao Pires con la orquesta Sinfónica de Viena, o un recital de Grigori Sokolov.
También la Sala de Cámara tendrá un programa especial con al “Primavera
Barroca” que se realizará de la mano de del Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical.
Por su parte, la orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, con sede en el
Auditorio y dirigida ahora por Rossen Milanov, emprenderá la nueva temporada
con el nuevo “Club de amigos” que acaba de poner en marcha. Un club con
cuatro niveles de compromiso –andante, allegro, presto y vivace- que nace con
el objetivo de conseguir una mayor implicación del público ovetense en el programa de conciertos y generar un entorno más cercano a la orquesta.
En el Teatro Campoamor y tras el periodo estival, arrancará la LXVI Temporada
de Ópera de Oviedo. Se representarán cinco producciones o coproducciones
operísticas, comenzando en septiembre con "El Oro del Rin", con música
y libreto en alemán de Richard Wagner, y en Octubre, se representará "La
Traviata" de Giuseppe Verdi, a manera de guiño a todos los aficionados, coincidiendo con el 200 aniversario del nacimiento de ambos creadores.
En el mes de noviembre se estrenará "Don Pascuale", con Oviedo Filarmonía
en el foso, para concluir el año con un recordatorio de la vida de Federico
García Lorca en "Ainadamar", del compositor argentino Osvaldo Golijov.
La LXVI temporada de Ópera de Oviedo finalizará ya en enero de 2014 con la
representación de "Don Giovanni".

An extraordinary season
for the 15th anniversary
The 2013/2014 musical season, the preview of which is already known, is looking extraordinary, with a special programme in the Príncipe Felipe Auditorium which will celebrate its first 15 years of life this spring, turning it into
the socio-cultural facility with the highest number of activities in Oviedo and in Asturias. A few months beforehand,
the Oviedo Philharmonic Orchestra, now conducted by the
maestro Marzio Conti, will celebrate the same anniversary.
Amongst the programmed concerts, we would highlight a Verdi-Wagner gala with
Emily Magee and Klaus Florian Vogt, the return of the Kremerata Báltica, the baritone Thomas Hampson with the Camerata of Amsterdam, the Donostiarra Choir
with the Capitole of Toulouse Symphonic Orchestra, the Bach Collegium of Japan,
the Montreal Symphonic, conducted by Kent Nagano, the Bavarian Radio Orchestra
conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, a recital by Elina Garanca, the pianist Maria Joao
Pires with the Vienna Symphonic Orchestra, or a recital by Grigori Sokolov. The
Chamber Room will also have a special programme with the “Baroque Spring”
which will be carried out by the National Centre for Musical Diffusion.
Also, the Principality of Asturias Symphonic Orchestra, based in the Auditorium
itself and now conducted by Rossen Milanov, will undertake the new season
with the new “Friends’ Club” which it has just set up. A club with four commitment levels –andante, allegro, presto and vivace - and with the aim of getting as many people from Oviedo as possible involved in the concert programmes and generate an environment that brings them closer to the orchestra.
In the Campoamor Theatre, and after the summer period, the LXVI Oviedo
Opera Season will get started. There will be five production and coproduction
operatic performances, beginning in September with "The Rhine Gold", with
music and libretto in German by Richard Wagner, and in October, "La Traviata"
by Giuseppe Verdi will be performed, as a gesture to all fans as it coincides
with the 200th anniversary of the birth of both creators.
In November the debut of "Don Pascuale", with the Oviedo Philharmonic in
the pit, to finish off the year with a reminder of the life of Federico García Lorca
in "Ainadamar", by the Argentinian composer Osvaldo Golijov.
The LXVI Oviedo Opera Season will end in January 2014 with the performance
of "Don Giovanni".

Museos
Coincidiendo con las vacaciones escolares, el Museo de Bellas Artes de
Asturias propone una serie de actividades para que los niños y niñas de
4 a 12 años pasen unos días disfrutando con el arte. La programación
de VERANO EN EL MUSEO 2013 está distribuida entre el mes de julio
y la última semana de agosto e integrada por seis talleres, impartidos
todos ellos por un mediador cultural especializado. En ellos, los participantes podrán desde crear un objeto cerámico a diseñar y grabar
un cortometraje de animación propio, siempre conociendo y profundizando en las técnicas, obras y autores que se conservan en el Museo.
El objetivo principal de este variado, divertido y dinámico programa es
acercar el Museo de Bellas Artes de Asturias y sus colecciones a los
más pequeños, al tiempo que se fomenta el diálogo y el intercambio de
ideas, sentimientos y percepciones. De este modo, mientras los asistentes disfrutan y comparten experiencias y emociones, desarrollarán
de un modo lúdico y participativo su sensibilidad artística y aprenderán
a conocer, respetar y valorar el patrimonio que conservamos.
JULIO: TALLERES INFANTILES
Taller 1: Stop Motion en el Museo
Del 9 al 11 de julio - Niños y niñas de 10 a 12 años
Con este taller, diseñado por Ester Sánchez (Pintar-Pintar), se
busca desarrollar la obra pictórica más allá de sus límites físicos y
temporales, creando una narración gráfica mediante el stop motion,
técnica de animación que consiste en simular el movimiento de objetos estáticos por medio de una sucesión de imágenes fotografiadas.
Partiendo de las colecciones del Museo, los participantes deconstruirán una de las piezas analizadas, separando cada una de sus
partes (fondo y personajes o diferentes elementos gráficos) para,
después, construir una nueva historia alrededor de ella, imaginando y diseñando el guión de su stop motion y un pequeño story board
(guía de la película concebida como una secuencia de ilustraciones), que sirvan para el posterior rodaje de su propio cortometraje
de animación. Al finalizar el taller, se enviará a cada uno de los participantes su trabajo por correo electrónico.

Museums
Coinciding with the school holidays, the Museum of Fine Arts of
Asturias proposes a series of activities so that boys and girls from 4
to 12 years old enjoy some days with art. The 2013 SUMMER IN THE
MUSEUM programme is spread over July and the last week of August
and is made up of six workshops, all given by a specialist cultural mediator. In these workshops the participants can do anything from creating a ceramic object to designing and recording their own short animation film, always getting to know much more about the techniques,
works and authors conserved in the Museum. The main aim of this varied, fun and dynamic programme is to bring the Museum of Fine Arts
and its collections closer to the youngsters and, at the same time, promote dialogue and the interchange of ideas, feelings and perceptions.
In this way, while the attendees enjoy and share experiences and emotions, they develop their artistic awareness and learn to know, respect
and value the heritage we conserve in a ludic and participative manner.
JULY: WORKSHOPS FOR YOUNGSTERS
Workshop 1: Stop Motion in the Museum
From the 9th to the 11th of July – Boys and girls from 10 to 12 years old
With this workshop, designed by Ester Sánchez (Pintar-Pintar), the
goal is to develop the pictorial work beyond its physical and temporal limits, creating a graphic narration through stop motion, animation
technique that consists of simulating the movement of static objects
through a succession of photographed images. Beginning with the
Museum’s collections, the
participants will dismantle
one of the analysed pieces,
separating each one of its
parts (background and characters or different graphic
elements) so that, later on,
they can build a new story
around it, imagining and
designing their stop motion script and a small story

Taller 2: Pintamos, bailamos y cantamos en el Museo
Del 16 al 18 de julio - Niños y niñas de 4 a 6 años
Esta actividad supone un acercamiento al Museo como institución
y, en particular, al Museo de Bellas Artes de Asturias y a sus obras,
adaptada a las capacidades de los más pequeños. En las dos primeras sesiones que componen el taller, Pintar-Pintar trabajará especialmente sobre conceptos vinculados a la creación pictórica, como
el color, el ritmo, la armonía y la composición. Estas ideas permitirán
a los niños y niñas recrear un cuadro sólo con los colores primarios o
entender, mientras aprenden a ver una pintura y disfrutan dibujando
y bailando, las relaciones que se establecen entre la música y el arte
a través del ritmo y de la armonía. Por último, en la tercera sesión,
romperán los papeles que han llenado de colores en los días previos
para inventar nuevas composiciones inspiradas en la escultura y el
collage y dar así nueva vida a su expresividad y capacidad creativa.
Taller 3: Mi autorretrato
Del 23 al 25 de julio - Niños y niñas de 7 a 9
años
Esta experiencia didáctica permite una aproximación del público infantil a algunos de los
autorretratos más destacados del Museo de
Bellas Artes de Asturias, especialmente al de
Darío de Regoyos (1857-1913), de quien este
año se celebra el centenario de su muerte.
Tras conocer algo más sobre los artistas que
Darío de Regoyos
los realizaron y sobre sus obras principales,

Macarena Fajardo invitará a reflexionar y debatir sobre el rostro humano, sus modos de
expresión y de representación, concluyendo
con la elaboración, por parte de cada participante, de su propio autorretrato a tamaño natural. Los objetivos de este taller son reforzar
el conocimiento del cuerpo humano y sus modos de representación,
el concepto de identidad y percepción sobre uno mismo y sobre el
otro y la autoafirmación de los niños y niñas como individuos dentro
de una sociedad abierta y plural.

Día 26 de julio - Niños y niñas de 4 a 12 años
En este divertido y práctico taller los participantes crearán con arcilla piezas esféricas, cilíndricas, cónicas… que después irán ensam-

Workshop 2: We paint, dance and sing in the Museum
From the 16th to the 18th of July – Boys and girls from 4 to 6 years old
This activity means getting closer to the Museum as an institution
and, specifically, the Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias and its works,
adapted to the capacities of the younger children. In the first two
sessions that make up this workshop, Pintar-Pintar will especially work concepts linked to pictorial creation, like colour, rhythm,
harmony and composition. These ideas will allow the boys and girls
to recreate a painting with just the primary colours or understand,
while they learn to see a painting and having fun drawing and dancing, the relationships established between music and art through
rhythm and harmony. Lastly, in the third session, they will rip up the
papers they have filled with colours in the previous days in order
to invent new compositions inspired in sculpture and collage and
therefore give new life to their expressivity and creative capacity.
Workshop 3: My self-portrait
From the 23rd to the 25th of July – Boys and girls from 7 to 9 years old
This didactical experience allows the junior public to approach some
of the most outstanding self-portraits in the Museum of Fine Arts of
Asturias, especially the one by Darío de Regoyos (1857-1913), whose death one hundred years ago this year is being commemorated.
After getting to know something about the artists who did them and
about their main works, Macarena Fajardo will invite reflection and
discussion on the human face, its ways of expression and representation, concluding with the elaboration, by each participant, of their
own life-size self-portrait. The aims of this workshop are to reinforce knowledge about the human body and its ways of representation,
the concept of identity and perception about oneself and others and
the self-affirmation of the boys and girls as individuals within an
open and plural society.
CERAMIC WORKSHOPS
Fantasy animals
The 26th of July – Boys and girls from 4 to 12 years old
In this fun and practical workshop the participants will create spherical, cylindrical, conical pieces … with clay, which will then be cast
with Barbotine (ceramic slip) and bordered to make, as per the imagination and skill of each one, coloured fantasy animals with ceramic slips. The pieces will be baked in Charo Cimas’s workshop and

blando con barbotina y rayando para conformar, según la imaginación y habilidad de cada uno, animales fantásticos coloreados con
engobes cerámicos. Las piezas serán cocidas en el taller de Charo
Cimas y podrán ser recogidas en el Museo aproximadamente un
mes después de la actividad, previo aviso del día de recogida.
AGOSTO: TALLERES INFANTILES
Taller 4: Un verano lleno de arte.
Del 27 al 29 de agosto - Niños y niñas de 6 a 12 años
Para poner punto final a la programación infaltil de VERANO EN
EL MUSEO 2013, proponemos este taller, realizado por PintarPintar y destinado a una franja de edad más amplia. Un verano
lleno de Arte pretende hacer una breve presentación de distintas
técnicas artísticas que se pueden encontrar en el Museo de Bellas
Artes de Asturias, incluyendo desde pinturas. esculturs y grabados
hasta...¡tapices! Así, la primera sesión girará en torno a las esculturaas del Museo: se descubrirán las mismas, la labor de los
escultores, los materiales con los que trabajan, las herramientas
necesarias para esculpir, finalizando con la creación de su propia
escultura. El segundo día estará dedicado a un tipo de objeto artístico menos conocido pero también presente en las colecciones
del Museo: el tapiz. Por último, los asistentes dedicarán la tercera
sesión a conocer algunas de nuestras obras pictóricas más representativas para después convertirse en los protagonistas de Museo
mientras juegan a meterse ¡dentro del cuadro!
TALLERES DE CERÁMICA
Dibuajndo con barro
Día 30 de agosto - Niños y niñas de 4 a 12 años
En nuesro segundo y último taller de cerámica del verano, los participantes dejarán volar su imaginación para realizar piezas cerámicas "dibujando con barro". La actividad consistirá en trabajar sobre
planchas de arcillas blancas que se colorearán con pigmentos cerámicos, obteniendo variados matices en el baro y neriages (mezcla integral de pastas de distintos colores). Así mismo, se utilizarán otros
objetos, como piedras, cortezaz, hojas, redes y otros materiales que
puedan traer los asistentes para dibujar texturas que se imprimirán
en la arcilla blanca. Las piezas serán cocidas en el taller de Charo
Cimas y podrán ser recogidas en el Museo aproximadamente un mes
después de la actividad, previo aviso del día de recogida.

From the 27th to the 29th of August – Boys and girls from 6 to 12
years old
To finish off the 2013 SUMMER IN THE MUSEUM kids’ programme,
we propose this workshop, carried out by Pintar-Pintar and aimed
at the widest age range. A summer full of Art will give a short introduction to the different artistic techniques that can be found in the
Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias, including from paintings, sculptures and engravings to...tapestries! Therefore, the first session will be
about the sculptures in the Museum: you can discover them the work
of the sculptors, the materials they work with, the tools needed for
sculpting, ending with the creation of your own sculpture. The second
day will be dedicated to a less well-known artistic object but which
is also present in the Museum’s collections: the tapestry. Lastly,
the attendees will spend the third session getting to know some of
our most representative pictorial works to later on they become the
stars of the Museum while they play at getting inside the painting!
CERAMIC WORKSHOPS
Drawing with mud
30th of August – Boys and girls from 4 to 12
years old
In our second and final ceramic workshop
of this summer, the participants will let
their imaginations loose to make ceramic
pieces “drawing with mud”. The activity will
consist of working on white clay sheets that
they colour in with ceramic pigments to get
a variety of nuances in the mud and neriages
(integral mix of putties with different colours).
