El Programa del Congreso Médico Internacional de Estética Integral
aglutina conocimientos y tecnología de siete especialidades médicas
implicadas en la estética. El asistente podrá registrarse en el
área/especialidad de interés manifestada previamente y, siempre
que el aforo lo permita, podrá acceder a cualquiera de las ponencias
de las demás áreas.
The International Integrated Aesthetics Medical Congress Programme includes
knowledge and technology from seven different medical specialities involved
in aesthetics. Attendees may register in the area/speciality of interest stated
beforehand and, if seating capacity provides, may attend any lecture given
in other areas.
Los objetivos del Congreso son que todos los

PRESENTACIÓN
Aunque para algunos se trate
de una especialidad nueva,
desde la Primera Guerra
Mundial comenzó un
crecimiento paulatino de
avances tecnológicos y
científicos (en su vertiente
más reparadora y plástica),
que se tornó en exponencial
hacia los años 1950-1960.
A partir de esta fecha, quedó
regulada una formación
académica
muy
protocolizada y elaborada
que ha llevado a que desde
hace 40-50 años,
paulatinamente se haya
disparado la demanda por
parte de la población. No
debemos olvidar que España
goza -no sólo en Europa,
sino a nivel mundial- de un
gran prestigio no sólo a nivel
académico, sino que en
consecuencia también del
nivel sanitario tanto público
como privado.
Todo esto hace que gran
parte de la población
demande un cirujano
plástico, reparador y
estético, para realizar no sólo
grandes reparaciones, sino
pequeñas correcciones que
hace años eran impensables,
y que se traducen
habitualmente en un altísimo
grado de satisfacción por
parte del afectado -tras la
cirugía-. En concreto, en
España hay un 8% de
personas intervenidas, y un
30% más de pacientes que
no tiene problema alguno en
someterse a operaciones de
este tipo.
Todo ello se ha traducido en
un veloz avance investigador,
tecnológico y de aprendizaje,
con dos consecuencias
directas: cada vez más
especialidades se arropan
entre sí con el objetivo de
mejorar resultados y, a raíz
de esto, el paciente obtiene
una amplísima oferta
terapéutica.
Al poder compartir esta
interrelación multi-disciplinar
en un mismo congreso, valga como dato el que se
trata del primer certamen
europeo de estas
características-, “FIBELLCONGRESO MÉDICO
INTERNACIONAL DE
ESTÉTICA INTEGRAL”, es
digno de elogio. Ponentes
destacadísimos tanto a nivel
nacional como internacional,
junto con una audiencia de
Médicos Especialistas,
Farmacéuticos y/o
Odontólogos debidamente

pensamos que, harán de esta
cita un proyecto de futuro y

PRESENTATION
Although some may think it
a new speciality, the gradual
growth of technological and
scientific advances took place
as of World War I (more in
repair and plastic aspects),
which became exponential
up till 1950-1960.
As of that date, a highly
protocolled academic
training was regulated and
prepared leading to a gradual
boom in demand for the last
40-50 years. It should not be
forgotten that Spain enjoys
–not only in Europe, but
worldwide- an enormous
prestige, not only
academically, but also as a
consequence in public as well
as private healthcare.
Making a large amount of the
population demanding a
plastic, repair and aesthetic
surgeon, in order to not only
carry out major repairs, but
minor corrections something
unthought of in the past, and
this is regularly translated
into a very high level of client
satisfaction –post-surgically. More specifically speaking,
in Spain 8% of the
population has been
operated upon, and 30%
more patients have no
problem at all in undergoing
operations of this type.
This has brought about rapid
research, technological and
learning advances, with two
direct consequences: more
and more specialities get
together in order to improve
their results and, the
outcome is that patients
obtain a very extensive range
of therapeutic possibilities.
As this multidisciplinary
relationship can be shared in
one single congress, -for
information’s sake, it is the
first European event of these
characteristics-, “

we wanted to incorporate

La Dermatología Estética
se ocupa de la aplicación
de nuevas tecnologías en
la piel y de la aplicación
de sustancias dentro y
sobre ella, con el objetivo
de generar una mejoría
cutánea que repercuta
tanto en la salud del
paciente como en la
percepción de su propia
imagen.
Entre las tecnologías más
avanzadas que se tratarán
en el área congresual y
expositiva destacan los
diferentes tipos de
láseres, especialmente los
fraccionados, la
radiofrecuencia, los
ultrasonidos, distintos
tipos de luces, etc. Por su
parte, las sustancias que
se insertan dentro de la
piel, como la toxina
botulínica o los materiales
de relleno, también están
sufriendo una rápida
transformación, lo que
obliga a su estudio y
conocimiento. Y lo
mismo ocurre con los
productos que se utilizan
sobre ella (peelings y
cosméticos, entre otros
muchos).

Aesthetic Dermatology
uses the application of
new technologies on the
skin and the application
of substances within and
upon it, with the aim of
generating a cutaneous
improvement affecting
the health of our patients
as well as in the
perception of their own
image.
Amongst the most
advanced technologies
that will be addressed in
the congress and
exhibition areas, those
that stand out are the
different types of lasers,
particularly fractional,
radiofrequency,
ultrasound, different
types of lights, etc. The
substances used and
inserted in the skin, such
as botulinum toxin or
filling materials, are also
undergoing a rapid
transformation, making it
necessary to further our
knowledge. The same
thing occurs with
products used on the skin
(peelings and cosmetics,
among many others).
Likewise, the discussion
about the future
challenges of Aesthetic
Dermatology will shed
some light upon aspects
such as androgenic
alopecy, depilation or the
non-surgical elimination

de la población, y

and they increase the

PRESENTACIÓN
La
obesidad
constituye una
verdadera epidemia
en los países
industrializados. Las
estadísticas refieren
que un 13,4 % de la
población española
es obesa y en
Estados Unidos la
cifra es mucho
mayor. Además
estas cifras están
aumentando
rápidamente. La
obesidad supone un
aumento del riesgo
de
padecer
enfermedades
coronarias,
diabetes, artrosis,
cáncer, etc. Por ello,
la obesidad no es
una cuestión
meramente
estética, es una
v e r d a d e r a
enfermedad.
A pesar de la
importante
morbilidad de la
obesidad, todavía
nos faltan por
conocer con
exactitud muchos
aspectos de las
causas de esta
enfermedad. Se
podría simplificar
diciendo que se
acumula grasa
cuando la energía
ingerida en forma de
alimentos es
superior al gasto
energético para el
mantenimiento de
las funciones vitales
y la actividad física.
Sin embargo,
existen factores
g e n é t i c o s ,
ambientales,
bioquímicos,
hormonales y
psicológicos que
influyen en este
equilibrio.
Q u e r e m o s
aprovechar la
oportunidad que
nos brinda este
c o n g r e s o

compartir los

PRESENTATION
Obesity constitutes
a veritable epidemic
in industrialised
countries. Statistics
suggest that 13.4%
of the Spanish
population is obese
and that the figure
in the United States
is much higher.
Furthermore, these
figures
are
increasing rapidly.
Obesity means a
greater risk of
suffering coronary
diseases, diabetes,
osteoarthritis,
cancer, etc. This is
why obesity is not
merely an aesthetic
issue, it is a genuine
disease.
Despite
the
significant morbidity
caused by obesity,
we still do not
accurately know
many aspects of the
causes of this
disease. We could
simplify by saying
that
fat
is
accumulated when
the energy ingested
through food is
greater than energy
expenditure in
order to maintain
vital functions and
physical activity.
However, genetic,
environmental,
biochemical,
hormone and
psychological factors
exist
which
influence this
balance.
We would like to
take
the
opportunity that this
multidisciplinary
congress offers us
to share the
advances of the
different specialities
that treat obesity.
First of all, we will
review its dietetic
and pharmacological
treatment and then,
discuss the different
techniques used in
bariatric surgery
available at present
and, finally, we will
address body
remodelling by
means of plastic
surgery after

PRESENTACIÓN
La Dermofarmacia
y la cosmética en el
sector farmacéutico son dos aspectos en constante
crecimiento y evolución, siendo de
especial consideración en el multidisciplinar entramado
sanitario en el que
se engloba el congreso internacional
de FIBELL 2008.
Asistimos hoy a una
evolución exponencial de la presencia
de los productos
dermocosméticos
en las farmacias,
con un importante
componente de
novedad permanente de los productos. La evolución de las
comunidades humanas y de la estética, el incremento
de la vida social y
cultural, así como
de los hábitos higiénicos y deportivos,
han llegado a establecer una evidente
necesidad del individuo por los productos cosméticos.
Como consecuencia del avance tecnológico, el
número de productos utilizables en
cosmetología aumenta constantemente y éstos cada
vez presentan mejores características
de calidad, inocuidad y seguridad. La
Dermofarmacia,
por tanto, está en
auge y constituye
una parcela de creciente interés para
la clase profesional
farmacéutica.
El objetivo de este
congreso que se
celebra dentro de
FIBELL Medicina
Científica es el de
ampliar los conocimientos del profesional farmacéutico
en los aspectos más
innovadores del
mundo de la cosmética y la Dermofarmacia.

PRESENTATION
Dermopharmacy
and cosmetics in
the pharmaceutical
sector are two aspects that are constantly growing and
evolving, which deserve special consideration within the
multidisciplinary
health framework
included in the international FIBELL
2008 congress.
We are currently
undergoing an exponential evolution
in the presence of
dermocosmetic
products in pharmacies, with constant noveltis in these products. The
evolution of human
communities and
aesthetics, the increase in social and
cultural life, as well
as in hygienic and
sporting habits, has
brought about an
evident need for
cosmetic products
by individuals.
The result of technological advancement has created a
constant increase of
products used in
cosmetology, thus
improving characteristics such as
quality, innocuousness and safety.
Therefore, dermopharmacy is developing rapidly and
creating a growing
interest in the field
of professional
pharmaceutics.
The objective of
this congress held
within FIBELL
Scientific Medicine is to further the
knowledge of pharmaceutical professionals as regards
the most innovative
aspects in cosmetics and dermopharmacy.

Guggenheim Museum, an architectural and cultural reference mark of the city, to the historic Transporter

Dónde ir: Existen lugares únicos en los que el tiempo parece haberse detenido. Uno de esos lugares es
la ermita de San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. Enclavada en el islote de mismo nombre, su acceso es posible a través
de una serpenteante escalera de 271 escalones que parte de tierra firme para elevarse sobre las rocas y el mar.
Where to go: There are unique places in which time seems to have stood still. One of these places is
the San Juan de Gaztelugatxe hermitage. Situated on an island with the same name, access can only be gained
by means of a winding stairway of 271 steps which commence on dry land and elevate themselves over rocks
and sea.
Qué hacer: Un recorrido a lo largo de la costa es, sin duda, la mejor excusa para conocer poblaciones
como Mundaka, Lekeitio, Gernika.... Rincones donde la tradición se disfruta viendo un apasionante partido
