As the day was drawing to a close, the Twelve approached him and said, "Dismiss the crowd so that they can go to the surrounding villages and farms and find lodging and provisions; for we are in a deserted place here." He said to them, "Give them some food yourselves." They replied, "Five loaves and two fish are all we have, unless we ourselves go and buy food for all these people." Now the men there numbered about five thousand. Then he said to his disciples, "Have them sit down in groups of about fifty." They did so and made them all sit down. Then taking the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he said the blessing over them, broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd. They all ate and were satisfied. And when the leftover fragments were picked up, they filled twelve wicker baskets. See page 10 for a full listing of Parish Staff. Parish Office Hours Monday: 9AM-6PM (closed between 12:30-1:30PM) Tuesday thru Friday: 9AM-7PM Saturday: 10AM-2PM Sunday: Closed From the Pastor • Del Pastor This is the third of three columns on the Parish Five Year Strategic Plan Esta es la última de las tres columnas sobre el Plan Estratégico de la Parroquia a 5 años Dear Friends of St. Louise, Queridos Amigos de Santa Luisa: It seems appropriate that I would conclude the series of three columns about our parish strategic plan on the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of the Lord. The Sacrament of the Body and Blood of the Lord is given to us so that we may become Christ’s own body and blood in the world – and our Strategic Plan is meant to put “flesh and blood” on how we live that out at St. Louise for the next five years. Aquí están los últimos dos de los ocho pilares: Facilities Provide a facility structure for the entire parish to carry out its mission, allowing each parishioner to connect with God and with God’s people as discerned throughout our retreat and survey input processes. Reevaluate the Master Building Plan so that it supports the spiritual and physical needs of our dynamic parish. It must meet the current demands of parish programs and allow for the expansion of new programs over the next 20 years. Construction of the Master Plan should be completed, in no more than two phases, by 2025. Resources We need to ensure that we have the right number of staff and volunteer resources in place to address all the needs of our parish community and its vision for the future. We will develop leaders who want to empower God’s baptized to fully live out our call of service in the Church. We need to address increases in staff and determine the right mix of collegiality, skills and leadership styles to facilitate new programs and further empowerment of volunteers. I will continue to work with the Parish Staff to develop specific goals to implement the strategic plan and with the Parish Pastoral Council to regularly communicate with our parish leaders about how the goals are being implemented each year. Thank you for your prayers, and your comments are always welcome. Fr. Do not think that your gift is too small or insignificant! God blesses all the gifts we offer and makes them wondrous. —Peter Scagnelli, Copyright © J.
