Catálogo Hekht [online y gacetilla bilingûe] 11.15

Hekht es un plataforma cultural independiente que se conformó
en el año 2011 con la idea de intervenir y experimentar
alternativas en las diferentes etapas del “hacer un libro”.
Es así que nos interesan todas las dimensiones de la producción de
un libro: los criterios de selección de los textos, los modos de la
traducción a nuestra lengua, la elaboración de los soportes materiales
y virtuales, las presentaciones y los maneras en que los relatos se
distribuyen y circulan. Asimismo, establecemos lazos cooperativos con
actores del mundo cultural y promovemos el activismo crítico.

culturales tradicionalmente llamadas “independientes” o “menores” en el
campo editorial argentino y latinoamericano. Por este motivo, nuestra
plataforma de experimentación discurre simultáneamente en tres ejes:
Hacer libros. Intervenimos en los modos hegemónicos de la producción
de libros. Nuestro criterio para la selección de textos radica en
Žƒ ƒº‹†ƒ† ’‘ŽÃ–‹…ƒ “—‡ –‡‡‘• …‘ ‡•‘• ”‡Žƒ–‘•ř ’”‘…—”ƒ‘• “—‡
las traducciones no neutralicen las lenguas locales sino que las
potencien, elaboramos los formatos de maneras que valorizan los saberes
comunitarios (imprentas de tipos móviles, confecciones manuales, uso
de licencias copyleft, etc.), presentamos los textos en escenarios y
con actores vinculados a ellos evitando la estandarización de tales
acontecimientos, trabajamos modos de distribución alternativos (mano
en mano, ferias independientes) aunque también nos incorporamos a los
modos tradicionales.

Hacer activismos. La
desterritorialización de los saberes hacia
áreas que no son tradicionalmente consideradas dentro de la problemática
editorial. Formamos parte de colectivos de narrativa y de crítica
cultural, apoyamos activamente procesos colectivos que se dan en ferias
y festivales independientes, participamos en reuniones académicas
e investigaciones, como así también buscamos que la plataforma de
experimentación intervenga críticamente en las redes sociales.

Hekht is an independent cultural
platform created in 2011 with the goal
of intervening and experimenting with
alternative methods in the various
stages of “bookmaking”. We are
interested in all dimensions of the
production of books: the criteria for
the selection of texts, the translation
of texts into our language, the
elaboration of virtual materials, and the
ways in which stories are distributed.
Additionally, we work to establish
cooperative ties with various actors
in the cultural sphere and to promote
critical activism.
Hekht sheds light upon and fosters the
cultural practices traditionally referred
to as “independent” or “lesser” in the
Argentinean and greater Latin American
Ƥ‡Ž†‘ˆ’—„Ž‹•Š‹‰Ǥ–‹–•…‘”‡ƒ”‡–Š”‡‡
principal concepts:
Bookmaking. At hekht, we intervene in
the established routes that dominate
the production of books in favor of
an open and experimental editorial
platform. Our criteria for the selection
‘ˆ–‡š–•Ž‹‡•‹–Š‡’‘Ž‹–‹…ƒŽƒƥ‹–›™‡
have with these stories. We ensure that
no translation neutralizes the
local language; rather our goal is
to empower a given language or
dialect. We develop formats in a way
that values community knowledge
(movable-type printing press, artisan
design and preparation, use of copyleft
license, etc.). We present the texts
in settings related to them, avoiding
the standardization of such events.
Special attention is also given to
involving ourselves in alternative
modes of distribution (hand to hand,
independent fairs), though we also
incorporate traditional means.
Community Building. We unite and
work cooperatively with writers,
artists, translators, graphic designers,
editors, and intellectuals.
Activism. The deterritorialization of
knowledge into areas that are not
traditionally accepted as part of the,
often problematic, editorial world is
fundamental to our group objective.
We are both active participators and
supporters of collective activity such
as independent fairs/festivals and
academic gatherings and research. We
seek to be critically involved in social
networks as well.
