Diabetes Services
Our Diabetes Center is recognized by the American Diabetes
Association and offers a comprehensive “Program of Excellence”
composed of all areas of professional practice. For information about
their programs and to register for any of the workshops offered
call (323) 307-8921. Workshops for Diabetes are held at the WMMC
Rehabilitation Conference Room unless otherwise indicated.
H.E.L.P. Healthy Eating Lifestyle Program
6 Week program
Program is designed to help overweight children ages 5-12 and their
families to adopt healthier eating and exercise programs.

Living with Diabetes
This interactive course will teach participants how to control their portions and combine meals to maintain and control blood
glucose levels.

Free and Low-Cost Health Care
We welcome patients with all types of Medi-Cal and Medicare managed care plans. Through our
Patient Financial Services Department, we provide families assistance in obtaining health coverage through Medi-Cal (eligible based on
income), Healthy Families, Access for Infants and Mothers (AIM), and Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC).

Maternity Services & Family Focus Classes
White Memorial has an experienced medical team, sophisticated equipment and quality
of services you and your family need, all in one hospital. White Memorial is especially
well-respected in our community for our excellence in women’s and children’s care. We
also offer classes that teach you how to care for yourself and your baby, private and
semi-private rooms and many other services including our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
(NICU)—one of the best in the state for infants born early or with complications. For

Free Maternity Tours
“Natural NURSING” Breastfeeding
Get all the information you need as you decide where to have
your new baby. Participants will tour the private labor, delivery
and recovery (LDR) rooms and the maternity area where mother
and baby stay after delivery. Every mom receives a gift! Join a
scheduled tour, or ask to take a tour at your convenience. Children
under 16 are not allowed on hospital tours. For more information,

This class will assist parents in making wise decisions about how
they want to feed their baby.

SAFE SURRENDER BABY LAW
White Memorial is a Safe Surrender Site: A confidential safe haven for newborns. Parents are permitted to
bring a baby within three days of birth to any hospital emergency room or other designated safe haven in
California. The baby will be placed in a foster or pre-adoptive home.

Welcome Baby
Programa gratis para mujeres embarazadas que den a luz en
el hospital White Memorial, ofreciendo apoyo, información,
acceso a recursos y regalos durante las visitas en casa de una
Consejera Materna entrenada profesionalmente que ayudara
a contestar sus preocupaciones y preguntas sobre su bebe
y familia. Madres continuaran recibiendo apoyo durante
su hospedaje en la sala de maternidad con la visita de una
represéntate de nuestro programa y recibirá una visita por
nuestra Enfermera Registrada después de que den de alta del

White Memorial es un sitio Safe Surrender: Un refugio confidencial seguro para los recién nacidos.

Coping with a miscarriage or loss of an infant
Formally called RTS (Resolve Through Sharing), this is a free service to help families cope and heal from their
loss. A pregnancy loss may include an abortion or miscarriage. This class is made up of families that have been
through a similar experience. The friendships you form will help you heal. No need to register.

Free Transportation
We provide free transportation to and from our hospital campus. Our courteous, bilingual van drivers
will pick you up at your home (within a five 5-mile radius of our campus) and bring you to White
Memorial for any medical appointments you may have at the hospital. They’ll also take you home when
you’re finished! Taxi vouchers may be available at certain times when van transportation is not available.

Transportation for Delivery
Free transportation is available for your delivery at White Memorial Birthing Center for you and two
adult guests. Service is available 24 hours a day within a 10-15 mile radius of our hospital.

*If you are scheduled for a C-section, transportation needs to be scheduled one week in advance.

Transporte Gratuito
Ofrecemos transporte gratuito desde y hacia el campus del hospital. Nuestros conductores bilingües

Foundation (MAOF) offers senior citizens 60 years of age or older, on-site as
well as over the phone, information, assistance, resources, referrals to agencies
and programs based on individual needs including:
• Taxi Coupons and Bus Tokens.
• Assistance with completion and translation of forms: Social Security forms,
Medicare, home energy applications, etc.
• Referrals: Immigration, meal sites, senior housing, social/ recreational
activities, Social Security, home delivered meals, legal services, Home Secure
Program, Handy Worker Program, other transportation needs.

Parish Nurse Program
Services provided through our Parish Nurse Program are: blood pressure screenings, blood
sugar screenings, referrals, health education, spiritual support, school health screenings,
home visitation, crisis intervention, and mental health counseling. For participating
