The Growing Child. This workshop will be an overview of the ages and stages of child development in order for the care
giver to become more aware of the individual differences in children. Instructor is Jeri Leighton, Early Learning Coach with
the READY Program.

Cooking with Children. Cooking Workshop: Join us in learning how to prepare vegetables so you and your children
actually want to eat them! We will spiralize zucchini, rice cauliflower, make tortillas, pizza dough, pumpkin pie and more,
all with fresh vegetables and absolutely NO sugar or artificial ingredients. Presented by Allison Goodwin.
*Providers on the Food Program: We are offering an additional 1/2 hour training opportunity (from 8:00-8:30 p.m.) for
child care providers participating with the Food Program. This will fulfill your annual Food Program training requirement for
2014-15.

UC Davis – Building Numeracy Skills and Beyond. This course encourages participants to examine ways to provide a
rich math environment for children. Participants learn strategies and activities that build developmentally appropriate math
knowledge and skills in the preschool years. Topics include: important math concepts for preschoolers, environments and
activities that encourage math development, supporting parents as teachers of math.

Ages & Stages Questionnaire: Screening the Children in Your Care for Developmental Delays is a Quality
Indicator. Come learn how to use the Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) with Michele Rodgers, Executive Director of the
Early Learning Institute. This is an easy to use tool, designed for parents to be able to answer simple questions to
determine whether a child is developmentally delayed. The earlier any issues are caught, the easier to address them!

Creative Curriculum: Building Study. Children are very curious about buildings. They want to
know how they are constructed and what people do inside them. This training will offer an
overview of many opportunities you can give children to explore buildings firsthand in the interest
centers of your classroom. You will learn how children will explore concepts in social studies
related to shelter, jobs and the purposes of different structures. Presented by Jill St Peter.

Tax Workshop. Record keeping, business use of home, use of a vehicle, Federal and state taxes are a few of the items
discussed in the Tax Workshop for Family Child Care providers. Join Fred Kenyon of Kenyon and Associates as he explains
business of taxes for family child care providers. $15 registration fee.

UC Davis: Serving Children with Special Needs and their families. Early educators will learn the keys to giving a
child the best start possible, regardless of the child's abilities. You will learn how to create an atmosphere of acceptance in
your program, reasons for concern of developmental risks and delays, and help families link to appropriate services.
