Even tough we are based in Quebec City, our organization is nomadic : we are moving around the world to organize those laboratories. During a week, we bring along together artists and workers with several backgrounds evolving in the video and cinema industry. They are challenged to create short films in a limited time, helping each other. Intercultural experience, KINOMADA promotes transmissions between cultural groups and a sharing of knowledge, in a goal of making established professional and emerging creators meet. The movies created during our laboratories, impregnated with those exchanges and also by the soul of the cities visited, are subsequently distributed as frequently as possible through movie festivals around the world, with the directors collaboration. Every stay, in Quebec or abroad, takes places during 5 to 7 days and brings together worldwide film artists. During a week, participants gather in teams to write, shoot and edit one or several short movies who are shown to the local public free of charge during the last night of the week. The twelve editions held since 2009 (which all have been very successful), show our capacity to expand internationally in a short period. More than 300 professional workers from the movie industry collaborated in our events. It is more than 300 movies produced since the first edition. Quebec’s public institution like Quebec City and LOJIQ trust us to represent them. KINOMADA defends a vision of artistic creation closely linked to social implication.
