Diego Rivera is one of the most famous artists in history. He was
born in Mexico in 1886. Diego began drawing at age three! The governor
thought he was so good that he gave Diego a scholarship to study art.
Diego later married another famous painter named Frida Kahlo. Diego is
best known for his beautiful mural paintings. One of his paintings,
called Creation, took six years to finish!
Diego Rivera es uno de los pintores mas famosos de la historia. El nació en México en
1886. Diego empezó a pintar a la edad de tres años! El gobernador pensó que era tan bueno
que le ofreció a Diego una beca para estudiar arte. Mas tarde Diego se casó con otra pintora
famosa llamada Frida Kahlo. A Diego mejor se le conoce por sus hermosos murales. Una de sus
pinturas, llamada Creación, tomó seis años terminarla!

Hispanic Olympians come from Spanish or English-speaking countries. Many Hispanic
athletes who have come to the United States compete successfully in the Olympic Games!
Olímpicos hispanos vienen de países de habla hispano o de habla ingles. Muchos atletas

Hispanic poets give our society new thoughts and ideas. They help us wonder, imagine,
understand, and question many different aspects of life. Ask your teacher to help you find a
good example of Hispanic poetry.
Write a poem about an event in Spanish history. Use action verbs and descriptive adjectives!
Poetas hispanos les dan a nuestra sociedad nuevos pensamientos e ideas. Nos ayudan a
preguntarnos, a imaginar, a cuestionar muchos aspectos diferentes de la vida. Pida a su
profesora que le ayude a encontrar un buen ejemplo de poesía hispana.
