WELCOME BACK!!!
Welcome back to an awesome start of our new school
year! This was our best start ever! Kindergarten parents
came for Open House on August 18 to meet the
Kindergarten team and introduce their children to the school.
On August 26th, parents met their children’s teachers at our
Back to School Night. Immediately after our Back to School
Night, approximately 45 parents and their children joined
Zaner-Bloser and administrators in the cafeteria for a
bilingual Literacy Workshop. We read Pepita Speaks Twice,
a story about a young girl who learns to appreciate the ability
to communicate in both English and Spanish. Bilingual
books, dry erase boards, and bags were just a few of the free
gifts that were distributed at this workshop. No one left
empty- handed. We encourage all parents to join us for our
Title I parent meeting on Wednesday, September 16 at 6:30
p.m. and to volunteer to be a part of our PTO. It’s going to
be a great year!
Free Student Breakfast and Lunch
All District 86 schools will participate in the National
School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs called the
Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 20152016 school year. Schools that participate in the CEP are
able to offer healthy breakfasts and lunches each day at
no charge for ALL students for the entire school year.
Additional cartons of milk will be $0.35. Students may
still bring their own lunch from home if they wish. If you
have any questions, please call the Food Service
Department at (815) 740-3196 ext. 220.
Low Cost Internet
If you have at least one child that participates in the
National School Lunch Program, your family may qualify
for fast, affordable home Internet service for the new
school year. Internet Essentials from Comcast costs just
$9.95 per month (plus tax) and the option to purchase an
Internet-ready computer for less than $150. Visit

BIENVENIDOS!!!
Bienvenido a un comienzo increíble de nuestro nuevo año escolar!
Este fué nuestro mejor comienzo como nunca antes! Los padres de los
estudiantes de kindergarten vinieron a la Noche de Orientación el 18 de
agosto para conocer al equipo de Kindergarten y para que sus hijos(as)
conocieran a la escuela. El 26 de agosto, los padres de todos los
estudiantes vinieron a conocer a los maestros de sus hijos(as) en nuestra
Noche de Regreso a la Escuela.
Inmediatamente después de nuestra Noche de Regreso a la Escuela,
unos 45 padres y sus hijos se unieron a Zaner-Bloser y administradores
en la cafetería para un Taller de Alfabetización Bilingüe. Leímos Pepita
Habla Dos Veces, es la historia sobre una jovencita que aprende a
apreciar la capacidad de comunicarse en Inglés y Español. Libros
bilingües, pizarras blancas y bolsas fueron sólo algunos de los regalos
que se distribuyeron en este taller. Nadie se fué con las manos vacías.
Animamos a todos los padres a acompañarnos a nuestra reunión de
padres de Título I el miércoles 16 de septiembre a las 6:30 p.m. y a ser
voluntario para ser parte de nuestro PTO. Va a ser un año grandioso!
Desayuno y Almuerzo Gratis para los Estudiantes
Todas las escuelas del Distrito 86 participarán en el
Programa Nacional Escolar de Almuerzo y Desayuno
llamado Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) para el
año escolar 2015-2016. Las escuelas que participan en el
programa CEP podrán ofrecer desayunos y almuerzos
saludables cada día sin costo para TODOS los estudiantes
durante todo el año. Leche adicional costara $0.35. Los
estudiantes, sin embargo, pueden traer su propio almuerzo
de casa si lo desean. Si usted tiene alguna pregunta, por
