La historia de Uribe, y de los veintitrés
municipios (Arrieta, Bakio, Barrika, Berango,
Derio, Erandio, Fruiz, Gamiz-Fika, Gatika,
Gorliz, Larrabetzu, Laukiz, Lemoiz, Lezama,
Loiu, Maruri-Jatabe, Meñaka, Mungia, Plentzia,
Sondika, Sopelana, Urduliz y Zamudio) que
actualmente la componen viene marcada por
esta posición estratégica tan cercana a Bilbao
y por su suave orografía.

El visitante que llegue a la comarca de Uribe,
tiene la posibilidad de realizar visitas a varios
molinos que hoy en día se encuentran en
activo, y ver in situ, cómo desde antaño se
muele la harina de forma tradicional.

Esta zona, productora de uno de los más
famosos vinos de Euskadi, el Txakoli de
Bizkaia, dispone de una gran cantidad de
bodegas de txakoli (en su mayoría adscritas
a la denominación de origen Bizkaiko
Txakolina), varias de las cuales pueden ser
visitadas con la posibilidad de realizar catas
de diferentes txakolis.
En los múltiples restaurantes que se encuentran
dispersos por toda su geografía podemos
degustar platos típicos de la gastronomía vasca,
elaborados con productos autóctonos de gran
calidad. La amplia oferta de alojamientos nos
brinda la posibilidad de elegir entre lo rural y lo
urbano, la costa y el interior.

Las numerosas ferias y fiestas que se
organizan en Uribe dan la oportunidad
al visitante de conocer los productos que
ofrece la tierra y las costumbres de sus
Inguru honetan, Euskadiko ardorik
ospetsuenetariko bat egiten da, Bizkaiko
Txakolina, txakolin upategi ugari ditu
(gehienak Bizkaiko Txakolina jatorrizko

bisitatu daitezke txakolin ezberdinak

Bere geografian zehar dauden hainbat eta
hainbat jatetxetan, euskal gastronomiaren
plater tipikoak dastatu ditzazkegu, kalitate
handiko bertako produktuekin egindakoak.
Ostatuen eskaintza zabalak baserri edo hiriko
giroen artean, kostalde zein barnealdearen

The visitor who arrives at the Uribe region, has
the possibility to visit several windmills which at
present are working and to see in situ, how flour
is ground in a traditional way as it used to be
done long time ago.
This area, producer of the Txakoli from Biscay,
one of the most famous wines from Euskadi, has
a great amount of txakoli wineries (most of them
attached to the guarantee of origin Bizkaiko
Txakolina), some of which can be visited with
the possibility to taste various txakolis.
In many restaurants which are scattered all
over its geography we can try typical dishes
of the Basque gastronomy, made with great
quality autochthonous products. The wide offer
of accommodation gives us the possibility to
choose between rural or urban ones, the coast
and the interior.
The numerous fairs and fiestas that are organized
in Uribe bring the visitor the opportunity to know
the products the land offers and its inhabitants´

La Ruta Medieval de Uribe (Larrabetzu, Zamudio,
Mungia, Gatika, Erandio y Plentzia) nos brinda
la oportunidad de conocer con más detalle las
costumbres y modo de vida en aquella época.
Mungia, dispone del primer Parque Temático
dedicado a la Mitología Vasca situado en el
caserío más antiguo de Bizkaia (siglo XVI). En
él podemos encontrar el famoso Olentzero y
otros muchos personajes mitológicos como
Basajaun, Tartalo, Mari…
En Plentzia, podemos visitar el museo marítimo
situado en el casco antiguo de la villa.
La naturaleza es protagonista importante en
Uribe, pudiendo realizar gran cantidad de
actividades al aire libre, como almorzar en
un merendero, disfrutar de sus playas, pasear
a caballo, volar en globo o parapente, hacer
surf, submarinismo, trekking por sus múltiples
senderos, escalada, canoas,… sin olvidarnos
del sendero de Gran Recorrido, GR-280, que
recorre toda su geografía en las 7 etapas en
las que está dividido. También hay senderos
señalizados de recorrido más corto, como el
paseo al faro de Gorliz, los senderos de Arrieta
y el sendero Oxinaga de Zamudio.

Uribeko Erdi Aroko Ibilbideak (Larrabetzu,
Zamudio, Mungia, Gatika, Erandio eta
Plentzia) garai haretako ohiturak eta
bizitzeko era xehetasun guztiekin ezagutzeko
aukera ematen digu.
Mungian, Euskal Mitologiari eskeinitako
lehenengo Parke Tematikoa dago, Bizkaiko
baserririk zaharrenean dagoena (XVI.
Mendea). Bertan, Olentzero ezaguna edo
Basajaun, Tartalo, Mari…bezalako pertsonai
milotogiko ugari aurkitu ahal izango ditugu.
Plentzian, itsas museoa bisitatu dezakegu,
uriaren alde zaharrean dagoena.
Natura, protagonista garrantzitsua da
Uriben, jarduera ugari egin daitezkeelako aire
librean, askaldegi baten bazkaldu, bertako
hondartzetaz gozatu, zaldi ganean ibili,
globoan edo parapentean hegan egin, surfa
egin, urpekaritza, trekking-a bertako hainbat
eta hainbat bidezidorretatik, eskalada,
kanoak… GR-280 izeneko Ibilbide Handiko
bidezidorra ahaztu gabe, bere geografia osoa
zeharkatzen duena 7 etapatan bananduta.
Badaude ibilbide laburragoak dituzten
bidezidorrak ere, Gorlizeko itsasargira
doana adibidez, Arrietako bidezidorrak eta
Zamudioko Oxinagako bidezidorra.
The Medieval Route of Uribe (Larrabetzu,
Zamudio, Mungia, Gatika, Erandio and Plentzia)
offers us the opportunity to know in greater detail
the customs and way of life at that time.
Mungia, has the first Thematic Park dedicated
to the Basque Mythology located in the oldest
cottage in Biscay (16th century). We can find the
famous Olentzero and many other mythological
characters such as Basajaun, Tartalo, Mari… in it.
In Plentzia, we can visit the maritime museum
located in the old town quarter.
The nature is an important main character in
Uribe, being able to do a lot of outdoor activities,
like for example, having lunch in a picnic area,
enjoy its beaches, riding horses, travelling by
hot air balloon or going paragliding, surfing,
scuba diving, trekking through its various paths,
climbing, canoes… without forgetting the
Great Route path, GR-280, which covers all
its geography along the three stages in which
it is divided. There are also signposted paths
which are shorter routes, like the promenade to
Gorliz´s lighthouse, the paths of Arrieta and the
path of Oxinaga in Zamudio.
