Route From Becerril to Alto de Hilo Routes around Becerril de la Sierra The route starts at the bottom of Peña Lisa where you take the track on the right, going to the reservoir of Becerril. Then take a detour to the right that surrounds the slopes of Alto del Hilo. At this point we can see the village of Becerril while walking through those centennial junipers and dense cistus, especially beautiful in springtime, when they are blooming. 07 M-6 d a Ro Continue along the track until we reach the north side where it joins the track of the Way of St. James (Camino de Santiago). You will cross a marvelous pine forest, walking parallel to the M-607 road, to the place known as La Salve. At this point we take the cattle route to the upper left of Alto del Hilo, leaving the track of St. James, which goes to Navacerrada. Collado de las Cabezas When you arrive to Collado de las Cabezas, which divides Alto del Hilo and Cerro de las Cabezas (1256 m), you can choose to go up to the top of Cerro de las Cabezas and enjoy its spectacular views and where you can find a fire guardhouse. You can climb up the hill taking the track after the gate, then turn left leading towards the summit. At the Collado de las Cabezas (Hill of the Cabezas), continue on the left along a forest track that leads to the reservoir, that is filled by the dam of La Maliciosa, and supplies water to Becerril. Once you get to the reservoir, you take a small track on the right and continue going up to the summit along the southern side of Alto del Hilo. ar l Pin e d le Cal a Lis ña Pe lle Ca Cerro de las Cabezas (1256 m) At the top you will enjoy the breathtaking and beautiful landscapes, a 360º panoramic view, where you can see Becerril de la Sierra to the South and Navacerrada municipality to the North. Also included are the valley of Barranca, the Bola del Mundo and La Maliciosa to the north. A view to the East includes, la Cuerda de los Porrones, CabezaIllescas and the Cerro de San Pedro (Hill of Saint Peter). At this part, a view to the South, we can see Cabeza Mediana and Sierra de Hoyo. To the West, we can see Cerro de las Cabezas, the dam of Navacerrada, Sierra del Castillo, Altos and Cerros de Jarahonda and the alignment of Alto del Leon- La Peñota.
