We know well that there are many types of blindness in
our world and often such blindness can be comfortable or
convenient. It is often more comfortable to go with the flow
of the world, which prefers easier and more selfish
practices, than to accept evidence of the light of Christ,
who calls us toward generosity and sacrifice for others. It
is more convenient not to see our own faults so we don’t
have to ask for forgiveness. It is easier to take refuge in
the fact that we have limitations, that our inactions are
justified, and that to not give of ourselves instead of
reaching out and helping someone in need might require
our time and energy. It is easier to see the faults in others
than in ourselves. But today Jesus says he is the light of
the world; he gives us the strength and courage to see.
Jesus is the Light that heals us from our blindness and
gives us the courage to walk in the light. He is the healing
that frees us from our isolation and fears. He is our
salvation.

5. Can we start using the texts approved by the
bishops immediately?
The translation of the Missale Romanum could not be
used in the celebration of the Mass until the complete text
was confirmed by the Holy See. Now that the translation
has received the recognitio, the USCCB has established
the first day on which the new translation may be used.
Use of the revised text requires preparation and
catechesis for both priests and the faithful. When the time
comes to use the texts in the celebration of the Mass,
priests will be properly trained, the faithful will have an
understanding and appreciation of what is being prayed,
and musical settings for the liturgical texts will be readily
available.
6. What will the process of implementation look like?
Now that the recognitio has been granted, final
preparation and publication of the Missal will commence.
Catechesis on the new translation and on the Liturgy itself
will become even more important. Training for priests,
music ministers, and other liturgical leaders (liturgy
committees and liturgical commissions), as well as
formation for all Catholics, will help to ensure the
successful implementation of the new text.

dedicada para ayudar a las víctimas del terremoto que

ORE POR LAS VOCACIONES
Sabemos muy bien que en nuestro mundo existen
muchas cegueras las cuales a veces resultan cómodas o
convenientes. Es más cómodo a menudo ir con la
corriente del mundo que prefiere prácticas más cómodas
y egoístas en lugar de rendirse a la evidencia de la luz de
Cristo que llama a la generosidad y al sacrificio por los
demás. Es más cómodo no reconocer los propios errores
para no tener que pedir perdón. Es más cómodo
refugiarse en todo lo que no podemos hacer, todas
nuestras justificaciones para no actuar, no entregarnos,
que salir al encuentro de una necesidad que nos puede
quitar tiempo y energía. Es más cómodo ver los defectos
de los demás que los propios. Pero hoy Jesús nos dice
que Él es la luz del mundo, que nos da fuerza y valentía
para ver. Es la luz que nos cura de nuestras cegueras y
nos da el valor de seguir caminando en la luz. Es la
sanación que nos libera de nuestros encierros y nuestros
miedos. Es la salvación.
