DELICA’s relationship with the world of objects begins with a tray.
Of course, it’s not the tray itself but what lies beyond it which really counts - the gesture, the metaphor, the readiness of a company
that since its very beginnings has been reflecting upon certain
matters... To what extent can we humanise language and, with
new meanings, enrich our relationship to objects? How useful is
an object that doesn’t integrate the ability to evolve and adapt?
Does a plain and unimaginative design possess the ability to tell
a story? Does an object really work when it has no way to react
to the unexpected or is oblivious to one’s playful instinct?
La relación de DELICA con el mundo de los objetos se inicia con
una bandeja. Por supuesto, no es la bandeja sino lo que hay
detrás, el gesto, la metáfora, la disponibilidad de una Compañía
que desde su creación se ha venido planteando cierto tipo de
reflexiones… ¿En qué medida podemos humanizar el lenguaje y
enriquecer con nuevos significados la relación con los objetos?
¿Hasta qué punto resulta hoy útil un objeto que no integre la capacidad de evolución y adaptabilidad?, ¿sirve un diseño plano, falto
de imaginación para contar historias?, ¿o que no sepa reaccionar
ante un imprevisto?, ¿o sordo al instinto lúdico?
From 1962 to 2003, the company produced countless numbers
of trays for the catering world. It was established as DELICA
bringing with it proposals in accordance with the times; with a
coherence that translates into sensitive and sensible designs. Each
product is the company. And thus, with an internalised approach,
is the way in which these objects manage to creep into our daily
routine.
De 1962 a 2003 la empresa fabricó (casi) todas las bandejas del
mundo para hostelería. Se estableció como DELICA con propuestas acordes con los tiempos; con la coherencia que se traduce en
piezas sensibles, con sentido. Cada producto es la empresa. Y así,
con la actitud interiorizada es como los objetos logran deslizarse
en nuestra rutina.
Just in Case and Phi 60, a double bid with which DELICA now
launches into the furniture world. Just in Case - stool, table and
tray, all in one - is an irresistibly elegant, austere, poetic and
functional instrument. What can be said about Phi 60 is that we
are standing before a set of shelves in motion, incredibly simple
yet of a provocative nature: it proposes formal riddles based on
the whimsical mathematics inherent to the number Phi. A furniture
piece much like the never ending story... to fantasise with.
Just in Case y Phi 60, es una apuesta doble con la que DELICA
se lanza ahora al ámbito del mobiliario. Just in Case - taburete,
mesa y bandeja - es un instrumento austero, elegante, poético e
irremisiblemente funcional. Lo que se puede decir de Phi 60 es que
estamos ante una estantería en marcha, atronadoramente simple y
con gesto provocador: propone acertijos formales basados en la
matemática caprichosa del número Phi. Un mueble como la historia

Phi 60 is a set of special modular shelves that allow
for irregular and consistently harmonious arrangements, thanks to a proportional measurement system
and the easy fitting of its elements. // Phi 60 es una

Its different measurements are the direct result
of multiplying or dividing 60 by Phi, also
known as the “golden number” or “divine
proportion”. Due to its unique properties, Phi
is the most irrational number, the only one with
which adding is multiplying and subtracting is
dividing. The peculiarity of this fact leads to the
endless arrangements these shelves have to
offer, all irregular and always harmonious. //

multiplicar o dividir 60 por Phi, también llamado
“numero de oro” o “divina proporción” por sus

Each piece is like the journey from that which
is known to the object we now feel inseparable
from in our daily lives. From the wine bottle
rack, the cutting board, the table mat, the fruit
bowl and the coaster to the tray we use to
transport our dinner to the sofa. Versatile solutions for small daily rituals. DELICA OBJECTS
2005 - 2013 captures these gestures, which
could pass unperceived, with pieces that transform necessity into curiosity and usefulness into
reinvention. This is the main focus of designs
made to help, excite and surprise. Overall, the
collection could be interpreted as a wardrobe
where every item is designed to adapt to the
changing scenario. // Cada pieza es como
el viaje desde lo conocido ayer hasta el objeto
que hoy sentimos como inseparable en nuestro
día a día. Desde el botellero para el vino, la
tabla de trocear hortalizas, el salvamanteles,
el frutero, el posavasos o la bandeja para
llevar la cena hasta el sofá. A pequeños ritos
cotidianos soluciones polivalentes. DELICA
OBJECTS 2005 -2013 capta esos gestos
que podrían pasar desapercibidos con piezas
que hacen de la necesidad curiosidad y de la

open petals allow them to store pollen inside. Lorea is
a form of origami that reflects upon this natural act in
order to create a fruit basket. Lorea sways from side
to side, offering up its contents. // No existiría fruta sin flor...

The collection “Sacha” offers a series of recipients to be
used astableware for tasting “pinchos” or tapas. Its versatility allows a multitude of arrangements, colors and

The Atempo collection consists of a series of pieces that
unify design and materials to create ornamental objects for
everyday use. Their distinctive, timeless architecture is intended to achieve everlasting elegance. // La colección Atempo
está formada por un conjunto de piezas donde diseño y material se unen para crear objetos ornamentales de uso cotidiano,
con una marcada arquitectura atemporal, queriendo lograr una
elegancia en el tiempo.
Kuusi is a series of decorative boards made of HPL (High-Pressure Laminate), which can be used as small trays, coasters,
cutting boards or simply as table protection. Its hexagonal
form allows infinitive combinations of daily work spaces. //
Kuusi es un laminado de alta densidad que sirve como salvamanteles y posavasos. Puede ser usado como bandeja,
posavaso, tabla de corte o simplemente como salvamanteles.
Su forma hexagonal permite componer espacios de trabajo
infinitos.

This project attempts to delve deeper into the conventions related to regular geometry. We considered the
number of bottles of wine that might be stored in a typical home and the need to create a wine rack that is infinitely modular (?). The result emerged from computer
created gestural geometry. The object has the freedom
to be used in several different positions, with the weight of
the wine in relation to that of the object itself, generating unexpected movements that allow for a closer
relationship with the person who uses it. // El proyecto es una investigación sobre la modularidad mediante
geometrías irregulares. Nos preguntamos sobre el número
de botellas de vino que se pueden almacenar en los hogares
y sobre la necesidad de crear un objeto infinitamente modular
(?). El botellero surge de una geometría gestual realizada con
el ordenador. El objeto goza de libertad para ser usado en
varias posiciones, relaciona el peso del vino con el del mismo
objeto generando movimientos inesperados.

Kuusi is a series of decorative boards made of HPL (High-Pressure Laminate), which can be used as small trays, coasters,
cutting boards or simply as table protection. Its hexagonal
form allows infinitive combinations of daily work spaces. //
Kuusi es un laminado de alta densidad que sirve como salvamanteles y posavasos. Puede ser usado como bandeja,
posavaso, tabla de corte o simplemente como salvamanteles.

This project attempts to delve deeper into the conventions related to regular geometry. We considered the
number of bottles of wine that might be stored in a typical home and the need to create a wine rack that is infinitely modular (?). The result emerged from computer
created gestural geometry. The object has the freedom
to be used in several different positions, with the weight of
the wine in relation to that of the object itself, generating unexpected movements that allow for a closer
relationship with the person who uses it. // El proyecto es una investigación sobre la modularidad mediante
geometrías irregulares. Nos preguntamos sobre el número
de botellas de vino que se pueden almacenar en los hogares
y sobre la necesidad de crear un objeto infinitamente modular
(?). El botellero surge de una geometría gestual realizada con
el ordenador. El objeto goza de libertad para ser usado en
varias posiciones, relaciona el peso del vino con el del mismo
objeto generando movimientos inesperados.
Phi 60 is a set of special modular shelves that allow for irregular and consistently harmonious arrangements, thanks to
a proportional measurement system and the easy fitting of
its elements. Its different measurements are the direct result
of multiplying or dividing 60 by Phi, also known as the “golden number” or “divine proportion”. Due to its unique properties, Phi is the most irrational number, the only one with
which adding is multiplying and subtracting is dividing. The
peculiarity of this fact leads to the endless arrangements these
shelves have to offer, all irregular and always harmonious.
With multiple arrangement possibilities, Phi 60 invites you to
create your very own. Its versatility makes it a piece which is
highly adaptable to the specific needs of a space and to the
objects you wish to display there in. Phi 60 is available in
three sizes and in two distinct finishes: natural birch or black
birch. // Phi 60 es una estantería modular especial, que permite composiciones irregulares y siempre armónicas, gracias a
un sistema proporcional de medidas y el encaje fácil de sus
elementos. Todas las medidas de ésta estantería salen de multiplicar o dividir 60 por Phi, también llamado “numero de oro”
o “divina proporción” por sus propiedades únicas ya que es el
numero mas irracional (el único donde sumar es multiplicar y
restar es dividir). Són éstas proporciones las que hacen posible
conseguir que las múltiples composiciones que caracterizan
ésta estantería sean siempre irregulares y harmónicas. Con
múltiples posibilidades compositivas, Phi 60 te invita a hacer
la tuya propia. Puedes adaptar la estantería a las necesidades
específicas de un espacio o de los objetos que quieras poner.
Phi 60 se fabrica en tres tamaños y dos acabados: abedul
natural y negro.
