BREVE DESCRIPCIÓN DEL TRABAJO (en inglés- máximo 4 líneas)
The camp’s main activity will be designing and constructing two new play plazas, which will be
integrated in the socio-educational project “El Territorio del Juego” which the City of Monleras has been
promoting for the last few years. On the other hand, the young volunteers that sign up for this camp will
participate in diverse activities of socio-cultural animation and rural revival.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
Main Activity:
Design and construction of two playgrounds:l
The camp’s main activity will be designing and constructing two new play plazas which will be integrated
in the socio-educational project called “El Territorio del Juego”, which the City of Monleras has been
promoting for the last few years. The idea is to create a space for play in a natural setting with an
innovative design to promote traditional games as an educational resource and as a stimulus for
intergenerational activities. In past years seven playgrounds have been designed. The goal for this year´s

camp is to design two more.
COMPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES - LEISURE ACTIVITIES:
On the other hand, but simultaneously, the young volunteers that sign up for this camp will participate in
diverse activities of socio-cultural animation and rural revival, collaborating with distinct municipal
associations, taking off from the possibilities offered by popular games and cultural tradition. Among
others the following activities are proposed:
- Festival of intergenerational games;
- Trade Fair
- Rural life and culture shop
- Environmental shop
- Experience a day with a family
- Participation in the Cultural Evenings at the Amphitheatre.
Also, to fill in free time, there will be other activities and shops of cultural, recreational, sports directed to
the group of young participants, such as:
- Day trips to Salamanca and “Las Arribes del Duero” ( portuguese border)
- Shops of artistic expression
- Dramatization and corporal expression
- Sport activities
- Nocturnal activities of animation
- International cooking shop.

From Madrid to Salamanca.
By bus: Auto-Res. "Estación Sur" Bus station (every hour commute).

From Salamanca to Monleras:
By bus: Empresa Criado. Salamanca Bus Station.
Leaves Salamanca from Monday to Friday at 17:30 pm, Saturdays at 14:00 pm. No
Sunday service.

THINGS TO BRING:
European Health Card for EU volunteers.
Sleeping bag (optional), small knapsack, shower slippers, summer clothes, something
heavier for the cool nights.

Personal toilette towels included (optional renting at youth hostel).
SPECIFIC GOALS:
PROFILE – COMMITMENT OF PARTICIPANTS:
Young people with social concerns, who want to get a better grasp of the rural world through involvement
in a community project in a small town in western Castilla. Young people interested in ethnography and
traditional culture. Young people with artistic sensibility and capabilities.
INTERNAL RULES:
The participants must respect minimal rules during their stay at the work camp, as far the schedules for
work, meals and rest periods are concerned and participation in group activities as well as cooperation in
group tasks and social interaction.
