This helps shoppers find the right food. Scientists classify living things, such as plants, in a similar way. Scientists classify plants by sorting them into groups. This helps us identify plants. You can classify plants into groups by color, size, and shape. You can classify plants by how they reproduce, or produce offspring. You can also classify plants by their flowers or seeds. Plants that produce flowers are classified as flowering plants. Plants that do not grow flowers to make seeds, are classified as nonflowering plants.
