Take special care to make sure the jacket does not
block or obstruct proper venting across the top of the
heater and does not obstruct the air flow into the
burner area.

Care must be taken to trim and remove insulation for
areas covering heating element controls and the power
connection. Failure to do so could cause the control
wires to overheat and this would cause deterioration of
the insulation on the wires. The result of this could be
electric shock.

1. Thoroughly clean the top of the heater with detergent and
warm water. Solvent-based cleaners must not be used.

2. With white vinyl side out, wrap the jacket around the water
heater with the tab at the top. Mark the vinyl at the point
the insulation overlaps.
3. Using a knife and a straightedge, cut the jacket with the

4. Wrap cut jacket as shown in figure above. Cut and apply 3
pieces of 3.5” x 6” tape as shown. Cut out insulation over
burner control area on gas unit and side seam over
thermostat on electric unit. Center and apply 3.5” x 48”
tape over entire length of side seam.
* SKIP STEP NUMBER 5 IF UNIT IS ELECTRIC
AND READ INSTRUCTIONS BELOW.
5. Cut remaining tape into pieces approximately 6” long and
use to tape sides to top of water heater.
INSULATE TOP OF ELECTRIC WATER HEATER BY CUTTING
EXCESS INSULATION TO FIT AROUND OBSTRUCTIONS.
PROCEED WITH ITEM 5 OF THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
Caution: Avoid contact with your eyes and skin. Wear long
sleeved, loose fitting clothing, gloves, and eye protection
when handling fiberglass. Wash with soap and warm water
after handling.

arriba. Corte y aplique 3 piezas de cinta de 3.5” x 6” como se
muestra. Corte la insolción que se encumentra sobre el área
de control del quemador en la unidad de gas y ponga sobre

aproximadamente 6” de largo y use la cinta para los lados de
la parte de arriba del calentador de agua.

PONGA INSOLACION EN LA PARTE SUPERIOR DEL CALENTADOR DE AGUA
ELECTRICO, ESTO SE HACE CORTANDO EL EXCESO DE INSOLACION PARA QUE
QUEDE ALREDEDOR DE LAS AREAS OBSTRUIDAD. PROCEDA CON EL PASO 5 DE
LAS INSTRUCCIONES DE INSTALACION.
Precaución: Evite el contracto con los ojos y la piel. Use ropa
holgada y de manga larga, guantes y lentes protectores cuando
maneja la fibra de vidreo. Lávese con agua tibia y jabón después
de su manejo.
