Are You Selecting Books Your Child
Will Enjoy?
Children who enjoy reading are likely to do more of it.
Do you know how to select books that will encourage
your child’s love of reading? Answer yes or no to the
questions below:
___1. Do you look for books that will challenge—but
not frustrate—your child?
___2. Do you choose books that match your child’s
interests?
___3. Do you suggest books by authors whose work
your child has enjoyed in the past?
___4. Do you look for characters your child can
relate to?
___5. Do you keep an eye out for attractive
illustrations and pictures?
How well are you doing?
More yes answers mean you’re seeking out titles your
child will have fun reading. For each no, try that idea
from the quiz.

Dear Parents,
I hope that we can work together on
improving our efforts to help children succeed in
school. This year we have a new class “Guiding
Good Choices”. The topics for this class are: How
to Prevent Drugs in Our Families, Establish Clear
Standards, Avoid Problems, Managing Conflict,
and Reinforce Affective Family Ties. We will start
with these works hopes in Spanish, and later
during the year will do them in English. We will
offer Basic Computer Skills- Adult Education, you
will learn to use Microsoft, Excel, and Power
Point. You will also learn about the parts of the
computer, using the internet, and sending email
with gmail.
I hope that by registering in this course
you will incorporate the computer into your daily
activities, making your life easier. Welcome to
this wonderful world of Computer Technology.
Let’s walk together on this great Journey!
On Tuesday, Sept. 6th I’ll have a
presentation about services In our school,
including Operation School Bell, Food Pantry, etc

A los niños que disfrutan la lectura leen más. ¿Sabe
cómo seleccionar libros que fomentarán la afición
de su hijo por la lectura? Responda sí o no a las
siguientes preguntas:
___1. ¿Busca libros que sean desafiantes para su
hijo, pero que no lo frustrarán?
___2. ¿Escoge libros que se relacionen con los
intereses de su hijo?
___3. ¿Sugiere libros escritos por autores que su
hijo ya ha leído y que le han gustado?
___4. ¿Busca libros que tenga personajes con los
que su hijo se pueda identificar?
___5. ¿Se fija que las ilustraciones e imágenes
sean atractivas?
¿Cómo le está yendo?
Si la mayoría de sus respuestas fueron sí, usted
está buscando libros que le divertirán a su hijo.

Queridos Padres,
Espero que podamos trabajar juntos en
mejorar nuestros esfuerzos para ayudar a
nuestros niños a tener éxito en la escuela, este
año tenemos nuevas clases tales como
“Encaminándonos Hacia Buenas Decisiones” los
temas de esta clase son: Como Prevenir Drogas
en Nuestras Familias, Establecer Estándares
Claros, Evitar Problemas, Manejar Conflictos y
Reforzar los Lazos Familiares de Afecto.
Empezaremos con estos talleres en español, y en
el trascurso del año los ofreceremos en Ingles.
Ofreceremos Habilidades Básicas de
computación, aprenderá a usar Microsoft Office
y sus componentes incluyendo Word, Excel, y
Power Point. También aprenderá las partes de la
computadora, el uso del internet y mandar email
con Gmail.
Esperamos que inscribiéndose en este curso
incorporara la computadora en sus actividades
diarias, haciendo su vida más fácil. Bienvenidos
a este mundo maravilloso de Tecnología de
Computadoras. ¡Caminemos juntos en este gran
viaje!
El martes, Sept. 6th tendré una
presentación sobre servicios en nuestra escuela,
incluyendo Operation School Bell, Despensa de
Comida, etc.
