Easter Triduum
March 28 - 31
The three days of the Easter Triduum are an especially sacred time. Even when we are
at home or at work, the Church encourages us to keep the spirit of those days.
Documents from Vatican Council II explain to us:
Christ redeemed us all and gave perfect glory to God principally through His Paschal
mystery: dying He destroyed our death and rising He restored our life. Therefore the
Easter Triduum of the Passion and Resurrection of Christ is the culmination of the entire
liturgical year.
General Norms for the Liturgical Year and the Calendar, 18
The expression "Triduum" means "three days." These three days are counted the same
way the Hebrews counted their days: from dusk to dusk. Thus, it spans from Holy
Thursday and Good Friday to the Easter Vigil/Easter Sunday.

Triduo Pascual

Los tres días del Triduo Pascual son especialmente sagrados. Aunque estemos en
casa o en el trabajo la Iglesia nos anima a mantener el espíritu de esos dias.
Los Documentos del Concilio Vaticano II nos explican:
Cristo nos redimió y nos dió Gloria perfecta hacia Dios, principalmente por el Misterio
Pascual: muriendo Él destruyo nuestra muerte y resucitando Él restauró nuestra vida.
Por eso el Triduo Pascual de la Pasión y Resurección de Cristo es la culminación del
año liturgico.
Normas Universales Sobre el Año Liturgico y el Calendario General, 18
La palabra “Triduo” significa “tres días.” Estos tres días son contados de la misma
manera que los Hebreos lo hacian, de atardecer al atardecer. Por eso el comienzo es
Jueves Santo a Viernes Santo, Viernes Santo a la vigilia Pascual, y de la vigilia Pascual
a el Domingo de Pascua.
