1) OBLIGACIÓN ACADÉMICA: FONÉTICA Y FONOLOGÍA INGLESAS II

4) OBJETIVOS DE LA ASIGNATURA:

Familiarizar al alumno con aquellas estructuras o modelos de
entonación típicos de la lengua Inglesa a través del estudio y la
comparación de distintos enfoques.
Adquirir los tonos característicos del Inglés Británico teniendo en
cuenta su función y sentido en el discurso, prestando atención a
aquellos elementos paralinguísticos que también conforman una
completa e integradora interpretación del discurso oral.
5) UNIDADES ACADÉMICAS:
SET I:
What is intonation? General characteristics of intonation. The roles of intonation. Word groups.
Stress and accent. Tunes in single-syllable word groups and in longer word groups containing
only one important word. Tune and tone group. The structure of the tone group: nucleus and
tail, pre-nuclear patterns, heads and pre- heads.
Simple and compound tone groups. The 10 tone groups: low drop, high drop, take- off, low
bounce, high bounce, switchback, long jump, jackknife, terrace, high dive.
SET 2:
Assimilation, gemination, juncture. Aspiration. Different types of release: lateral, nasal, sibilant,
no audible. Dictation. Transcription: narrow.
SET 3:
Listening: comprehension, note taking. Reading and speaking.
