It is wrongly generalized that violence comes
from within the family or within marriage.
BUT we have to make the distinction
between:
women who are married legally,
women who cohabitate,
women who live with another male
companion.

• En el 2011 el número de mujeres solteras atendidas disminuyó un 19% y se registró aumentó en las casadas
y en unión libre en comparación con el 2010. Esto no indica la necesidad de trabajar en la paternidad responsable.
Causes of violence against women
include:
•The eroticization of society by
mass media.
•Pornography openly on the street.
•The commercialization of sex.
•An incomplete view of sexuality as
only a pleasurable recreational
activity, without control.
To end violence against women and
children we propose to:
•Help society to recover the cultural
value of real love, putting respect as
a main value to construct a
relationship.
•Stop commercializing both sexuality
and women’s bodies.
• Prohibit the exaggerated and
explicit manifestations of constant
violence on TV and movies,
especially at certain hours when
children are likely to be watching.
• Bring real justice against those who
commit violence.
• Help family become what it´s meant
to be, a domain of peace and not of
violence.
