NADBank News Vol. XV, Edition 21, May 17, 2011 In this edition: ORGANISMO OPERADOR MUNICIPAL DE AGUA POTABLE, ALCANTARILLADO Y SANEAMIENTO DE SAN LUIS RÍO COLORADO SONORA NORTH AMERICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK WASTEWATER COLLECTION SYSTEM EXPANSION TO UNSERVED AREAS IN SAN LUIS RÍO COLORADO SONORA REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST NO.: OOMAPAS-SLRC-BDAN-001-2011 The water utility, Organismo Operador Municipal de Agua Potable, Alcantarillado y Saneamiento de San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora (OOMAPAS), has received a grant from the North American Development Bank (NADB) through its Border Environment Infrastructure Fund (BEIF), which is funded by contributions from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), to finance part of the costs of expanding the wastewater collection system to unserved areas of San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora. OOMAPAS intends to contract a consulting firm to provide construction management and supervision services for the construction of the Poniente, Las Flores, Oriente and Jazmín subcollectors, in the city of San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora. The services will consist of verifying that construction work is carried out in accordance with the designs, specifications and established standards, as well as monitoring project performance and the use of funds provided by the NADB. These services are expected to begin in August 2011 and will last an estimated eight months. The selection process for contracts financed with NADB funds will be carried out in accordance with NADB Procurement Policies and Procedures, and is open to firms from any country. Interested firms are hereby invited to submit expressions of interest. Qualified firms from a short list will be formally invited to submit proposals at a later date. The bid documents and terms of reference will be published in Spanish only. Interested companies must have at least five years of experience in supervising works of a similar or greater size. In order to determine the capability and experience of consulting firms interested in being short-listed, the following information should be provided: 1. A brief description of the company, its organization and services. 2. Details concerning the experience required for the work described above, acquired during the last five years, including a brief description of the activities performed, contract amount, duration of the work and staff who participated. 3. Contact name and phone number for references from at least three of those projects that were completed within the last five years. 4. Curriculum Vitae (CV) of staff available to work on this project. Only the CV’s of those persons with direct experience in water and sanitary infrastructure projects and with the ability to work in Spanish will be considered.
