Thank you for reaching out. We have several initiatives underway that we believe will help bring down the C­section rate of our first­time mothers: We have assembled a cross­functional team of clinical leaders (including our CNO, L&D nurses and OBs) focused on enhancing patient education materials, developing community health seminars to optimize family education in hopes of proactively addressing the types of questions and concerns that often lead to a patient’s preference for C­section, and identifying additional best practices to implement at our facility. We are also reviewing delivery data with our OBs on a monthly basis to help them better understand their practice patterns and better educate their patients on all of their delivery options. Nothing is more important to us than delivering safe, high­quality care.
