The 2001 Rioja Bordon Gran Reserva is
a blend of 85% Tempranillo, 10%
Mazuelo, and 5% Graciano that also
spent 24 months in barrel followed by
extended bottle aging prior to release. It
offers up a fragrant, alluring perfume but
on the palate it is a bit austere. It seems
to have ample fruit, but err on the side of
caution and drink it over the next several
