OCP Publicaons. Communion There's a wideness in God's mercy I cannot find in my own. And He keeps His fire burning To melt this heart of stone. Keeps me aching with a yearning, keeps me glad to have been caught. In the reckless raging fury that they call the love of God. Now I've seen no band of angels But I've heard the soldier's songs Love hangs over them like a banner Love within them leads them on To the ba,le on the journey And it's never gonna stop Ever-widening their mercies And the fury of His love. O, the love of God. O, the love of God. The love of God. Joy and sorrow are this ocean In their ev'ry ebb and flow Now the Lord a door has opened That all hell could never close Here I'm tested and made worthy Tossed about but liEed up In the reckless raging fury That they call the love of God By: R. On this altar we are broken, giv'n as food that all might live, giv'n as food that all might live. 1. How quickly we reject ourselves, blinded from our call. We resign to live in fear of love, of self, of all. This is not the will of God, for the chosen must be free. We are taken by the love of Christ to live eternally. The Love of God “Dios es rico en misericordia . . .” Efesios 2:4 Divine Mercy Parish 2. Broken like the bread of life, we oEen flee from pain. We resign to live our lives, not knowing death's true gain. This is not the will of God, for in dying we will live. The cross, a sign of victory and of the healing it will give. Bridge Some say it is good to have, but the faithful learn to give. Like the saints of old who lived prepared, we become like Christ to feed, to share. (to refrain…) By: T. Booth; T. Casey©1995. We believe that He conquered death. We believe in the resurrecon, and He's coming back again. We believe. 2. So, let our faith be more than anthems, greater than the songs we sing, an our weakness and temptaons we believe, we believe! Bridge Let the lost be found, Page 6 and the dead be raised; in the here and now let love invade. Let the church live loud! Our God, we'll say, “We believe! The East Jefferson Serra Club would like to get to know you. Please pick up a flier in the back of church for more information. East Jefferson Serra Club is part of a global organization of lay Catholic men whose objectives are: to encourage and promote vocations to the ministerial priesthood in the Catholic Church as a particular vocation to service, and to support priests in their sacred ministry; to encourage and affirm vocations to consecrated religious life in the Catholic Church; and to assist its members to recognize and respond in their own lives to God’s call to holiness in Jesus Christ and through the Holy Spirit. “The cross forces us to look upon the fact that we are loved by God.” Pope Benedict XVl It would seem that this sentence contradicts itself. We ask ourselves, “How could a loving God allow this pain that I feel? Did He not suffer and die for us so that we would not have to suffer?” We look around the world and see such terrible suffering imposed on innocent children. Surely that is not fair! And the answer is no, it is not fair. However, we must remember that there is great evil in the world which imposes pain, and evil is a consequence of sin. My sin, your sin, the sin of the world. Jesus says, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.” Luke 9:23 He never said we would have a carefree life, it is how we bear difficult times that is important. Jesus once said to St. Catherine of Sienna, “I created you without you, but I will not save you without you.” It is through pain and suffering that we learn humility and surrender to the love of God. Lord, teach us how to suffer well so that we may gain eternal life with You. Mary, dearest Mother, lead us into the arms of Jesus, Your Son. Live in the heart of Christ through the enthronement of the Sacred Heart.
