Read Cutting Strips and Pieces prior to cutting fabric. Getting Started This garden inspired quilt consists of smaller scaled blocks in six bi-monthly installments. Refer to Accurate Seam Allowance. Whenever possible use Assembly Line Method. Press seams in direction of arrows. Refer to Appliqué Instructions. Our instructions are for Quick-Fuse Appliqué, but if you prefer hand appliqué, reverse patterns and add g"-wide seam allowances. Appliqués are added to each block prior to sewing the quilt top together. Making the Tulip Block 1. Trace 2 sets of flower patterns on page 6 on paper side of fusible web. Use chosen fabrics to prepare all Diagram appliqués for fusing. Refer 13 to block diagram on page 5 to position and fuse appliqués to 4h” x 7h” pieces of Fabric A. Finish appliqué edges with machine satin stitch or other decorative stitching as desired. 2. Refer to Quick Corner Triangles. Making quick corner triangle units, sew two 2h" Fabric A squares to one 3i" x 2h" Fabric D piece as shown. Press. Make two, one of each variation. Sew one unit from step 2 between one 2i" x 3i" and one 1g" x 3i" Fabric A pieces as shown. Press. Make two, one of each variation. Sew one 1" x 5h" Fabric C piece between these units as shown. 3i 3i 2i 2i 1g 1g Make 2 (1 of each variation) 1 Diagram 16 5h 4. Sew together one 1g" x 7h" unit from step 1, and unit from step 3 as shown. Press. Block measures 7h" x 9h".
