SE NOS ACABA DE IR EL 2014 y ya estamos a mediados de enero. A un paso de las tan
ansiadas vacaciones y con la satisfacción de haber
cerrado un año más. Diciembre como siempre fue
una locura, entre planificaciones y evaluaciones, el
Karting, la Navidad, el amigo secreto y un arbolito cargado de regalos, cerramos el año sin tener
un minuto para mirar hacia atrás. Pero ahora que
las agendas están más calmas, les proponemos un
espacio para reflexionar y volver sobre el sentido
de empezar un nuevo año a la Vantaz Way.
Siempre hemos dicho que ser Vantáztico es sinónimo de un tremendo profesional capaz de reinventarse, dueño de una mirada innovadora que se
proyecta en el largo plazo, capaz de entregar soluciones creativas y diferentes a nuestros clientes.
Profesionales que también nos preocupamos de
nosotros y de nuestras familias, procurando siempre una mejor calidad de vida. Pero también, de ser
personas conscientes del aporte que hacemos a la
sociedad, y cómo esto nos retribuye, nos cambia la
mirada del mundo, y nos permite crecer.
Una muestra de que esta definición es real, la vivimos el mes pasado: el compromiso de desarrollo
a través de las evaluaciones, nuestras acciones solidarias y de RSE, los espacios que compartimos
con compañeros, amigos de trabajo y familias, en
gran parte gracias a la semana Vantaz. Pero como
dicen, el cielo es el límite y todavía nos queda mucho por hacer, recibir y entregar.
Por eso queremos que este 2015 sea un año “re-
dondo”. Uno en el que cumplamos nuestras
metas profesionales, sin nunca dejar de disfrutar del proceso, de preocuparnos por nosotros mismos, y por los que tenemos al lado,
de detenernos en las cosas simples y en esos
detalles que nos muestran que la vida hay que
estrujarla, para poder confesar como Neruda…que hemos vivido! …. pero siempre a
nuestra manera, a la Vantaz Way!
Con la feliz misión de estar en familia y disfrutar de cada momento: Bienvenidas las vacaciones, y nos vemos en marzo!
WE JUST SAID GOOD BYE to 2014 and
now we are in the middle of January. A step from
the long awaited holydays and the satisfaction
of another year closed. December as always was
crazy. Between planning and assessments, Karting, Christmas, secret friend and a Christmas
tree full of gifts, the year ended without a minute
to look back. But now that the agendas are quieter is time to reflect about the meaning of start a
new year in the Vantaz Way.
Be a Vantáztico is synonymous of being a tremendous professional, owner of many characteristic such as creative, innovative, but also is care
about our families and worried about the contribution we can make to society.
Last month we have the confirmation that this
definition is real: the commitment through the
assesments to development , our solidarity and
CSR actions, the time we share with colleagues,
friends and families, largely thanks to Vantaz week.
But as they say, the sky is the limit and we still have
much to do, receive and deliver.
We want this 2015 be a “round” year. One full
of professional goals, in which we never stop enjoying the ”ride”, concerning about ourselves, stop
at the simple things and the details that shows us
that life must be squeeze, to confess as Neruda ...
we have lived! .... but always in our style, in the
Vantaz Way!

RSE: ¡Vantásticos por un mundo mejor! / CSR: Vantázticos for a better world!
HOY LAS EMPRESAS son consideradas un actor social más, y como tal, dueñas de
deberes y responsabilidades. Esta realidad nos ha llevado a comprometernos en
varias iniciativas que estamos seguros van a hacer de Chile un país mejor. Estos
temas son liderados por nuestro Comité de Responsabilidad Social Empresarial compuesto por Leo Fuentes, Maca Blanco en Santiago, Christian Ramírez en
Antofagasta y ya pronto tendremos novedades desde Australia. Orgullosos les
contamos en qué estuvimos el 2014.
• Esta Navidad la compartimos con los niños y jóvenes del Hogar Maruri. Llegamos
felices con la meta cumplida. Gracias a la generosidad de todos y el 1+1 de Vantaz
cuadruplicamos lo que nos habíamos propuesto e hicimos posible que todos ellos
puedan tener dulces sueños entre sábanas, plumones y pjiamas nuevos.
• En las oficinas de Santiago hay una gran caja de cartón
para reciclar papel. Con el pequeño gesto de no botarlo
al basurero y llevarlo hasta este contenedor no sólo se
dejaron de cortar árboles y se ahorraron miles de litros
de agua, lo más importante es que ayudamos a financiar
el trabajo de la Fundación San José para que niños entre
0 y 6 años crezcan en el amor de una familia adoptiva.
• Como saben las empresas pueden invertir en capacitación el 1% de sus remuneraciones imponibles y deducirla de impuestos. Los excedentes de este beneficio pueden ser donados al
fondo de becas sociales que imparten distintas entidades sin fines de lucro, que
es lo que hace un tiempo hacemos en Vantaz. Este año donamos 8 millones de
pesos a la Fundación de Educación Nocedal, La Esperanza, y Rodelillo Emprende. Mientras que un porcentaje superior fue repartido a través de nuestra OTIC
a otras instituciones similares.
• Christmas with the children of Maruri Home. We arrive happy with the satisfaction of the accomplished goal. Thanks to the generosity of everyone and Vantaz
1 + 1, we quadrupled our objective and made possible that all the kids can have
sweet dreams between sheets, duvets and new pyjamas.
• In our offices in Santiago there is a large cardboard box to recycle paper. With
the small gesture of not throw the paper into the dustbin and take up to this
container, we are not only prevent the cut of trees and the waste of thousands
of liters of water, we are also helping to support San José Foundation who work
to make possible that children grow in the love of an adoptive family.
• As you know, companies can invest in training 1% of their taxable income and
deduct taxes. The excess of this benefit can be donated to support social grants
providing by different NGO, which is what Vantaz do. This year we donated 8
million pesos to Nocedal Education Foundation, La Esperanza, and Rodelillo
Embark. Another higher percentage was distributed through our OTIC between
others institutions.
• The past 2014 we participated in DO-RE-Mi, a project of Desafío Levantemos
Chile which consist in deliver musical instruments to schools dedicated to vulnerable children. The idea is to promote their interest in music and take them
away from the streets. Vantaz, with a large team led by Christian Ramírez, gave
a musical school kit to D-121 School in Antofagasta. Now the students have the
challenge to form a band.
We invite you to join these actions, all the ideas are welcome.
• El 2014 participamos en el proyecto DO-RE-Mi del Desafío Levantemos Chile
que consiste en entregar instrumentos musicales a colegios de niños y jóvenes
socialmente vulnerables. La idea es fomentar su interés en la música y alejarlos de
las calles. Vantaz, con un gran equipo liderado por Christian Ramírez, entregó un
kit musical a la escuela D-121 de Antofagasta. Ahora el desafío es de los alumnos y
consiste nada menos que en formar una banda.
Los invitamos a sumarse a estas acciones, bienvenidas las ideas. ¡Aquí todos
los granitos de arena suman!
TODAY COMPANIES are regarded as a social actor’s, and as such, owners of
duties and responsibilities. This reality has led us to engage in various initiatives which we are sure will make Chile a better country. These issues are led by
our Corporate Social Responsibility Committee composed by Leo Fuentes and
Maca Blanco in Santiago, and Christian Ramirez in Antofagasta. Soon we will
have news from Australia. We want to tell you how proud we are of the actions
we realize during the past 2014.

NAVIDAD VANTAZ /PARNÉS: Jojojo, Fue una feliz Navidad para todos
APENAS EMPEZABA DICIEMBRE y en Santiago los vantázticos comenzaron a vivir
la Navidad. Vantazilandia y el Viejito Pascuero se tomaron la oficina para decorarla
e impregnar cada rincón con el espíritu de las fiestas. Una tarde en la que también
se dieron el tiempo para envolver con mucho cariño y cuidado los regalos para los
Vantaztikids. Ahí se notaron las manos extras que nos prestaron Danae –hija de
Marce- y Francisca –señora de Rodrigo Vigueras-.
Rodeados de este ambiente el viernes 22, pasadas las 4 de la tarde, las nuevas generaciones de Vantázticos comenzaron a llegar a la oficina para celebrar la Navidad.
Una tarde en la que gozaron con las payasitas, pinta caritas, un experto en globofexia
que deslumbró con sus diseños y qué decir de los helados con mil topings. Pero sin
duda, el momento más importante fue la llegada del Viejito Pascuero que se preocupó
especialmente de leer cartas y cumplir los deseos de cada uno de nuestros pequeños.
En paralelo en Antofagasta, ese mismo viernes despertaron con un contundente desayuno que además tenía considerado el Amigo Secreto, en su versión “si me
gusta, te quito tu regalo”, que sacó más de una carcajada. Más tarde, a eso de las
20.00 hrs. Vantázticos y Parneses con sus respectivas familias comenzaron a llegar al
centro de eventos Sala 141. La asistencia fue prácticamente total, y sin duda los más
felices fueron los niños que jugaron sin descanso. Dicen que la comida y la conversa
estuvieron tan buenas que los tuvieron que literalmente echar del lugar.
Y para vivir el verdadero sentido de la Navidad al día siguiente un grupo de Vantázticos Antofagastinos repitieron por segundo año consecutivo la entrega de regalos a
los niños de escasos recursos que envían sus cartas a Correos de Chile.
Gracias al compromiso de todos se cumplieron los deseos de seis pequeños que no
podían creer que estos tíos duendes les llevaran los regalos enviados por el viejito pascuero. Juguetes que llegaron acompañados por una caja de mercadería para sus familias.
Las celebraciones vantázticas terminaron el 24 temprano en la mañana con un gran
amigo secreto en Santiago. Una víspera de Navidad perfecta que no sólo tuvo fiesta y
regalos, sino un profundo sentido de solidaridad.
CHRISTMAS VANTAZ / PARNES: Jojojo, Was a Merry Christmas for all
JUST BEGINNING DECEMBER the Vantázticos start living Christmas. In Santiago
Vantazilandia and Father Christmas decorate the office and permeate every corner with the holiday spirit. They also took the time to wrap with love the Vantaztikids gifts. Many thanks to the extra hands gave us by Danae, daughter of Marce,
and Francisca, Rodrigo Vigueras wife.
Surrounded by this atmosphere on Friday 22, just after 4 pm, the Vantaz new
generations began to arrive to the office to celebrate Christmas. A special afternoon with clowns, face painting, a balloon expert who dazzled the audience with
his designs, and thousand of topings for the ice cream. But undoubtedly the big

moment was the arrival of Father Christmas who took special care in read all the
letters and fulfill the vantaztikids desires.
In parallel that same Friday Antofagasta woke up with a delicious breakfast
which also considered a Secret Friend in the “if I like your gift, I take it away” version which causes many laughs. Later, about 20.00 hrs, Vantázticos, Parneses and
their families began to arrive to Room 141 salon event. The attendance was almost
complete, and certainly the happiest were the children who played and played
with their Father Christmas gifts. They said that the food and the conversation
were so good that they had to literally kick them out.
In Antofagasta a group of Vantázticos experience the true meaning of Christmas
delivering gifts to underprivileged children who send their letters to Correos de
Chile. The kids couldn`t believe that these new uncles take them the gifts sent by
Father Christmas. Toys were accompanied by a box of groceries for their families.
Celebrations ended early the 24th in the morning with a big secret friend in
Santiago. This was a perfect Christmas Eve which have party and gifts, but also a
deep sense of solidarity.
KARTING VANTAZ /PARNÉS: A toda velocidad
Y EL AÑO NO PODÍA TERMINAR sin nuestro tradicional Karting. Esta vez vimos desafiando los límites
de la velocidad a Almond, quien obtuvo el primer
lugar, seguido de cerca por Alfredo, y a penas un
poco más atrás por Pepe Tapia, quien se quedó con
el tercer lugar. La que sacó la cara por las mujeres, y
menos mal, fue la Maca Pozo quién ante el asombro
de muchos, dejó atrás a varios machos del volante.
Y bueno, como era de esperar, después de tanto
deporte y emoción, las hamburguesas post karting
desaparecieron rápidamente.
KARTING VANTAZ /PARNÉS: Hurtling
THE YEAR ENDED WITH our traditional Karting.
This time we saw Almond pushing the limits of
speed and wining the first place, followed closely by Alfredo, and barely a little behind, by Pepe
Tapia, who took the third place. Maca Pozo represents the women and, to the amazement of many,
left behind several males.

MAIL DESDE BRISBANE

MAIL FROM BRISBANE
Happily uncomfortable
ME GUSTA ESTAR CÓMODO, pero a veces necesito algún tipo de “incomodidad” que me permita
ver qué más puedo dar y aprender. Fue así como
empecé a pensar que una manera de salir de mi estado de confort era irme a trabajar fuera de Chile.
Mis conversaciones con Mauro comenzaron un
año atrás, pero por supuesto y al estilo consultor
–corriendo- cuando se dio la oportunidad tuve
apenas una semana para tomar mis cosas y partir.
En Australia me recibieron los vantázticos quienes
me informaron de la larga lista de trámites que tenía que hacer para vivir como un australiano más.
Uf! Esa primera semana sentí que partía de cero.
Pero lo había logrado, la incomodidad era total.
Después fue acostumbrar el oído al acento aussie
(work in progress) y asumir una cultura de trabajo
más fría en sus relaciones, pero más eficiente en lo
profesional (aquí sacan menos la vuelta y conversan menos). Todo esto ha sido un proceso de adaptación que aún está ocurriendo (so far so good).
Y bueno no faltan las anécdotas. A la peor tormenta de granizo de los últimos 20 años, se sumó
mi debut futbolístico que terminó con 4 dedos del
pie dislocados, 5 días en el hospital, 2 cirugías, varios alambres en el pie, 2 muletas y 12 semanas de
yeso (sin duda, valió la pena el seguro médico).
No todo es incomodidad y tragedia, Brisbane
es una ciudad segura, bonita, y cosmopolita con
muchas culturas que se mezclan y conviven, en la
que todo funciona como reloj. Hasta hoy ha sido
una gran experiencia que le recomiendo a todos
los que quieran salir de su estado de confort para
descubrir, literalmente el mundo.
I like to be comfortable, but sometimes I need
some “discomfort” to let me see what else can
I give and learn. That`s why I began to think in
leaving Chile.
My conversations with Mauro began a year
ago, but of course and loyal to the consultant
style –always hurry- when the opportunity turn
up I had just a week to pick my things and leave. In Australia I was received by the Australian
vantázticos who informed me about a long list
of paperwork that had to do if I want to live as
an Australian. Ugh! That first week I felt like
starting from zero. The experience had succeeded, the discomfort was complete.
Then I has to get used to the aussie accent
(work still in progress) and assume a culture
of colder work relationships, but more professional and efficient (people talk and take less
around). All this has been a process of adaptation that is still happening (so far so good).
Well there are plenty of anecdotes. To the worst
hailstorm in the last 20 years I have to add my
football debut which ended with 4 foot fingers
dislocated, five days in the hospital, 2 surgeries,
wires in the foot, 2 crutches and 12 weeks of gypsum (definitely the health insurance worth).
But not everything is about discomfort and
tragedy, Brisbane is a safe, beautiful, and cosmopolitan city with many cultures that coexist,
and where everything runs like clockwork.
So up today, this have been a great experience that I recommend everyone who wants to
leave the comfort and discover the world.

VANTÁZTICOS POR EL MUNDO
Giancarlo Tosti-Croce, Patiperro profesional
Giancarlo, siempre lo tuvo claro: su lugar no estaba Chile. Así que recién titulado de ingeniero civil
industrial en la UFRO, Temuco, se embarcó en la
búsqueda de su destino y en el camino se fue entusiasmo con el desafío de recorrer el mundo.
La primera parada fue en Manchester, Inglaterra,
donde estudió un Máster en Desarrollo Económico. Ahí pudo recorrer Europa y convivir con personas de otros países y culturas. La experiencia caló
hondo y decidió seguir patiperreando. A Australia
llegó el 2011 a un Vantaz en el que se trabajaba por
proyecto y que junto a Marietta fueron convirtiendo en oficina propiamente tal. Pero fiel a su personalidad inquieta, tampoco se instaló: “Aterricé
en Perth por 5 meses. Luego vino un proyecto en
Townsville donde viví 14 meses, después me cambié a Brisbane, pero mi trabajo seguía estando en
Townsville, así que me tocó viajar durante un año y
cinco meses todos los fines de semana”.
Ahora está radicado en Brisbane, aunque cada
vez que puede toma un avión y parte. El 2014
pasó la Navidad en Birmania en un templo budista y el Año Nuevo en el centro de Taiwan: “Viví
dos extremos, un país súper pobre, y uno muy
avanzado, pero fue bonito. Siempre trato de viajar en búsqueda de culturas que no conozco. Estos últimos años ha sido Asia, pero también estuve en África, en Uganda. También me escapo
a lugares donde el buceo sea bueno”. Y ahí sus
grandes compañeros fueron Raúl Rivera y Alfredo
con quienes sacó su licencia PADI en Townsville.
A sus 35 años y soltero declara que: “Estoy en
la cruzada de conocer el mundo entero. Llevo
hartos años viajando y eso me mantiene vivo y
ocupado. Tengo la cabeza a mil pensando en cuál
será mi próximo destino”.
VANTÁZTICOS AROUND THE WORLD
Giancarlo Tosti-Croce:
Professional globetrotter
Giancarlo, knew that his place wasn´t Chile. So
recent graduate as civil industrial engineer in
UFRO, Temuco, he embarked in finding his own
destination and on the way he became fan of the
idea of traveling around the world.
The first stop was Manchester, England, where
he studied a Master in Economic Development.
That was the opportunity for touring though Europe and share with people from other countries
and cultures. The experience was strong and
then he decided to become a globetrotter. He
arrived to Australia in 2011 to a Vantaz in which
professionals worked per project and together
with Marietta they turn it into an office itself. But
true to his restless personality, nor was installed:
“I landed in Perth for five months. Then come a
project in Townsville where I lived for 14 months
after I moved to Brisbane, but my work was still in Townsville, so I travel every weekend for a
year and five months”.
Giancarlo is now based in Brisbane, but when
is possible he take a plane and leave. Last year he
spent Christmas in Burma at a Buddhist temple
and the New Year in central Taiwan: “Was two extremes experiences, a poor country, and an advanced one, but was nice. I always try to travel
searching for cultures that I don´t know. During

EN AUSTRALIA Vantaz sigue extendiendo
sus redes. Esta vez se trató de un encuentro organizado por The Australian Latin
American Young Profesionals en The Melbourne Hotel al que asistieron más de cien
jóvenes para escuchar historias de éxito
entre ambas regiones. Como auspiciador
de la reunión, Mauro les habló del “otro
camino” en el emprendimiento que tomó
Vantaz, uno que nace desde Chile hacia
Australia. También de quienes somos los
vantázticos y cuáles son nuestros planes
de desarrollo futuro. Este primer encuentro de networking nos permitió conocer
más del mercado profesional australiano
de manera de ir creando redes y perfilar
futuros vantázticos.
MEETING THE
FUTURE VANTÁZTICOS
IN AUSTRALIA VANTAZ continues expanding it networks. This time was a conference organized by The Australian Latin American Young Profesionals at The Melbourne
Hotel, which was attended by more than a
hundred of young people interested in success stories between the two regions. As
sponsor of the meeting, Mauro spoke about
the Vantaz venture and the bet of comes
from Chile to Australia. Also speaks about
the vantázticos and our plans for future.
This first networking meeting allowed us
to learn about how does the professionals
market work in Australia, do networking
and outline the future.

EVALUACIONES 2014
Un proceso necesario para seguir creciendo
SIEMPRE ES NECESARIO detenerse, mirar hacia atrás y evaluar. Y eso que es tan propio de fin de año
en el ámbito personal, también es parte de nuestra vida laboral como un paso fundamental para seguir
creciendo. Las evaluaciones del segundo semestre del 2014 se realizaron la semana del 15 de diciembre
y tuvieron dos focos. Por un lado se buscó identificar brechas, para luego generar herramientas para
acortarlas o eliminarlas, y por otro, se identificaron potencialidades para que podamos brillar aún más.
Un proceso que se completa con el Proceso de Consejería que comienza ahora en enero, y se mantiene durante todo el año para sacar lo mejor de cada uno.
2014 EVALUATION
A process for further growth
ALWAYS IS NECESSARY to stop, look back and evaluate. And what is a
tradition in a personal dimension, is also part of our working life as
a fundamental step for further growth. The 2014 second semester evaluation took place the 15th December week
and has two focal points. On one hand we look gaps
and work in generate tools to shorten or delete them,
and secondly, identified and develop our potentials.
A procedure that will be completed by the Counseling
Process that begins now in January and lasts throughout the year to get the best of us.
JUAN EDUARDO Loch has arrived to assume the Deputy Manager of Management
Control and Finance. You can recognize
him because he sits next to Simón, and is
always stuck headfirst into spreadsheets
and every number that circulates in Vantaz. Juan Eduardo cheer up! This is just the
beginning. Welcome to the Vantaz world!
TE EXTRAÑAMOS / MISS YOU
