My good friends,
I’ve got to say that God really sends the cutest babies
our way! We are getting ready to baptize little Johan
(see picture on page 2). Maybe we should start
entering our kids into some contests. When we win we
can pay off all our debts – and then all of us take a trip
to Hawaii together….OK, that day dream is done.
This gives me the chance to repeat what we need for
baptism. I have decided that, in this parish, no child
should be turned away. I don’t care if her parents were
born on the moon. We will encourage them to have
their marriages blest. In the class, we will also ask
about how to better the practice of the faith. But we
will not turn away any child.
HOWEVER, your choice of Godparents is important,
and I will not bend on this. You have chosen this man
and this woman (YES, it must be a man and a
woman…or if necessary, just ONE; no two men, no
two women – it’s against the canon law of the church.)
And the Godparents must be confirmed and married in
the church (if they are married.) And they should be
attending mass regularly.
Lately, we have had many people come to the
rectory telling us that they baptized before, and that all
of the above conditions were present. Well then, you
made a mistake. We ask you to please choose
godparents that are good examples of the Catholic
faith. And keep in mind that once their names are in
the books, there is absolutely no way to take them out.
I know that sometimes people delay baptism of their
children until they find the right godparents. You have
6 years to do that. Once they hit 6 years of age, they
should be in Catholic School or CCD, and then after a
year of study we can baptize them.
That’s it in a nutshell. I just wanted to repeat in
order to avoid more embarrassing situations.

Blessed Mother of Fatima encouraged
devotions on the first Saturday of each
month. On Saturday, August 6, we invite
all who would like to attend – for the entire
day or only for a little while, to pray the continuous
rosary in the chapel in the basement of the church.

Honestly, the
Catholic Faith has some
wonderful witnesses
(including about 3000 sitting in our pews every
Sunday!) following are some of his reflections:
“The absolute best thing in the world that can
happen to me is telling a parent that their
child’s tumor is benign. I live for those
moments. And the worst thing that can happen
to me is telling a parent that I’ve lost their
kid. It’s only happened to me five times in
thirty years. And I’ve wanted to kill myself
every single time. Those parents trusted me
with their child. It’s a sacred trust and the
ultimate responsibility is always mine. I lose
sleep for days. I second-guess every decision I
made. And every time I lose a child, I tell the
parents: ‘I’d rather be dead than her.’ And I
mean it. But I go to church every single day.
And I think that I’m going to see those kids in
a better place. And I’m going to tell them that
I’m sorry. And hopefully they’ll say, ‘Forget
it. Come on in.’”

Mis buenos amigos,
Creo que Dios nos esta mandando a Blessed
Sacrament a los niños mas bellos del mundo! Ahora
preparamos a bautizar a Johan. Pues quise usar este
momento para repetir unos requisitos para el bautizo.
Nunca rechazamos a nadie para los sacramentos. A
mi no me importa si sus
padres nacieron en la luna!
En la clase, nosotros
pedimos que bendigan a
sus uniones con una boda
sencilla. Hablaremos de
las prácticas religiosas de
tu familia. Preguntaremos
donde viven y porque no
asistir la iglesia más cerca
de tú casa.
Pero no
rechazamos a ni una niña
o niño.
Los padrinos es otra
cosa.
Ellos son el
ejemplo. Ellos necesitan
ser católicos; confirmados,
asistiendo misa, y si son
casados entonces haber
recibido la bendición de la iglesia. También, la ley de
la iglesia católica es que, si tenemos a dos padrinos,
tienen que aparecer un hombre y una mujer; no dos
hombres, y no dos mujeres. Si solo tienes a un padrino
o una madrina, está bien.
En las últimas semanas, han tratado de inscribir para
el bautizo, diciendo que en los años pasados, bautizaron
con las circunstancias mencionadas. Pues, ustedes y la
iglesia hicieron un error. Lo siento.
Hay muchas buenas familias que han demorado en
bautizar hasta encontrar buenos padrinos. Esa es una
buena idea. Pero recuerden por favor que solo tienen 6
años para hacer eso. Cuando el niño o la niña llega a 6
años de edad, pues tienen que estudiar en la escuela
católica o catecismo. Después de un año de estudio,
bautizaremos.
Eso es un resumen breve. Solo quiero evitar más
momentos vergonzosos.

Honestamente, yo no estaba esperando nada de
ganancia de los dos dias. Solo buscaba que todos

Bueno, la puerta abrio y el espiritu santo entro, y se
lleno el salon de un poder y un amor sin limites!
Tambien, ese salon se lleno de un calor tremendo
tambien, y nadie me dio ni una queja.
Un millon de gracias a todos los que vinieron y al
equipo de Cristo la Roca por unos dias inolvidables.
Dos mil ave María: Empezando
temprano en la mañana, rezaremos 2000
ave marías. Después de reflexionar sobre
las enseñanzas de nuestra Virgen de
Fátima, vamos a usar los primeros sábados
de cada mes para unirnos en esta devoción
mariana. Por eso, el sábado 6 de agosto, rezamos
en el sótano de la iglesia – en la capilla abajo. Si
quisieras ayudar en rezar un parte del rosario, favor
de dejar un mensaje para nuestro diacono en
formación – Carlos Pichardo – en la rectoría.
