A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HILLSBORO TEXAS HILL COUNTY STATE OF TEXAS
DECLARING THE ELECTION FOR CITY OFFICERS ON
MAY 14 2011 CANCELLED DECLARING THE UNOPPOSED
CANDIDATES ELECTED AND ORDERING POSTING OF
NOTICE OF CANCELLATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
TEXAS ELECTION CODE
WHEREAS on February 1 2011 the City Council of the City of Hillsboro
Texas Hill County State of Texas ordered an election to be held on Saturday May 14
2011 for the purpose of electing a Mayor Elected at Large and Councilmembers for
Place 1 Precinct 1 Place 3 Precinct 3 and Place 5 Precinct 5 for two year terms
and
WHEREAS notice of said election was duly posted and applications for
candidates to file for a place on the ballot were received by the City Secretary of the
City of Hillsboro from February 12 2011 through March 14 2011 and
WHEREAS applications for writein candidates as prescribed by the Texas
Election Code were available through 5

m on March 21 2011 and no candidates
filed for Mayor or Councilmember for Place 1 Place 3 or Place 5 and
WHEREAS review of applications for a place on the ballot have been
completed and candidates for Mayor Elected at Large and Councilmember Place 1
Precinct 1 Councilmember Place 3 Precinct 3 Councilmember Place 5 Precinct
5 are unopposed
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HILLSBORO TEXAS
Section 1 The City Council of the City of Hillsboro Texas accepts the Certification
of Unopposed Candidates presented by the City Secretary and dated April 5 2011
stating that all candidates for the May 14 2011 election are unopposed
Section 2 An order is hereby issued declaring the City Officers Election ordered
for Mayor Elected at Large and Precinct No 1 Precinct No 3 and Precinct No 5
Central Polling Place at Hillsboro Junior High School Gym 210 E Walnut
Hillsboro Texas 76645 on May 14 2011 cancelled
