Who are we that we should follow him? Many want him as a friend, a guide, a king, an advocate. Jesus reveals the nature of God, the servant sent to give us new life in God’s house. Take time to ponder these questions: Do we have the courage to follow Jesus? Do we reflect God’s nature in our daily life? Are we able to say with confidence: “Behold, I come to do your will?” STEWARDSHIP OF TREASTURE REPORT—November 30 Amount Needed Per-Week Offertory Budget Weekly Collection Total Above/ Below Budget $ $ $ Year-to-Date Totals (July 1st—November 30) Fiscal Year to Date Budget Fiscal Year to Date Actual Collections Above/ Below Year-to-Date Budget $ 1,341,768 $ 1,193,321 $ (148,447) Second Collection: Thanksgiving Mass—SVDP $ 61,941 48,200 (13,741) 1,695 ¡Gracias por su apoyo y generosidad! The Savior of the world comes for the people in dark places. The real, lasting, and deep joy is that the Light shines there. Through your gift to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, “Light” has shown, bringing real, lasting and deep joy to the hearts of the poor who live in dark places in our streets and neighborhood. For more information about the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, please visit www.svdprr.org. Marriage - Why God's Design Jesus was born in a family; he began to work his signs at the wedding of Cana and he announced the meaning of marriage as the fullness of revelation that restores the original divine plan (Mt 19:3). The Church has always recognized the existence of true, natural marriage between two unbaptized persons. Since the beginning of humanity such an alliance between a man and a woman has corresponded to the creative plan of God, and was blessed (Gen 1:27-28). ~ Cardinal Peter Erdo, Budapest Hungary, Oct 2015 Synod on the Family FREQUENT NUMBERS/ NUMEROS FREQUENTES PASTORAL CARE Liturgy Divorce & Beyond Bereavement Ministry Hospital visit (English) Hospital visit (Español) Homebound (English) Homebound (Spanish) Nursing Home Ministry Debbie George Debbie George Debbie George Mary DiBonito Martha Estrada Geri Lynn Martha Estrada Azucena Overman 600-8158 600-8158 600-8158 934-3235 417-8722 629-9006 417-8722 627-6423 SPIRITUAL LIFE Eucharist Adoration Pilgrim Statue Our Lady of Grace Estatua Peregrina Praise & Worship Prayer Line Parish Bible Study Legion of Mary Gigi Lewis Debbie Davis Rosie Russi Les & Gabriele Miller Joan A. SACRED HEART COMMUNITY CLINIC HOURS: Walk-ins, Tues. & Thurs., 5 p.m.—8 p.m.; Registrations, Mon. & Fri., 9 a.m.—Noon CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHING Especially appropriate for these days of suffering in our nation is the responsorial psalm for the Fourth Sunday of Advent, “O God, restore us; light up your face and we shall be saved” (cf. Psalm 80). In a world that is becoming increasingly secular, not only must we invoke the remembrances of the mighty deeds of God as we implore his intervention to save the world, but also must we remember to bring about the plan of salvation through the work of our own hands. Let us be Christ for one another. PRO-LIFE LINE/ LINEA PRO-VIDA Advent Tree of Hope Please remember to bring your donations and stars to the Tree of Hope by the 4th Sunday of Advent.
