This was a term used to indicate how confirmed
Christians are called to use the strength of the Holy Spirit to

come by evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21)
your awareness of this responsibility and your ability to do
good is stronger after your Confirmation. However, after people
receive the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and
Eucharist) they’ve only just begun to live as fully initiated
members of the Church. God invites you to grow in wisdom
and grace throughout your life, being a witness to the good
news of Jesus Christ in all you say and do! As St. Paul tells his
young friend Timothy, we are called to “rekindle the gift of
God that is within you” (2Timothy 1:6).
Am I holy enough to receive this or any other sacrament?
God’s love is a gift; we don’t earn it. In Confirmation, God
offers the gift of the Holy Spirit that makes us good and holy.
We have the choice to accept or reject the gift. You are, in
truth, “good enough” if you recognize the need for God’s grace
in your life and do all you can to be open to receive that grace,
in any sacrament.

Este término era usado para indicar cómo los cristianos confirmados están llamados a utilizar la fuerza del Espíritu Santo
para luchar contra el mal en el mundo haciendo el bien. "No sean
vencido por el mal, sino venzan al mal con bien" (Romanos 12:21) el
ser conscientes de esta responsabilidad y el sabernos
capacitados para hacer el bien es más fuerte después de la
Confirmación. Sin embargo, después de que las personas
reciben los sacramentos de iniciación (Bautismo, Confirmación
y Eucaristía) sólo acaban de empezar a vivir como miembros de
la Iglesia completamente iniciados. Dios nos invita a crecer
en sabiduría y en gracia a lo largo de nuestra vida, siendo
testigos de la Buena Nueva de Jesucristo en todo lo que decimos
y hacemos! Como San Pablo le dice a su amigo Timothy,
estamos llamados a "reavivar el don de Dios que está dentro
de ti" (2Timoteo 1:6).
¿Soy lo suficientemente santo para recibir este o cualquier
otro Sacramento?
El amor de Dios es un don; no un premio que ganamos.
En la Confirmación, Dios ofrece el don del Espíritu Santo que
nos hace buenos y santos. Tenemos la opción de aceptar o
rechazar el regalo. Pero puedes considerar que eres, en verdad,
"suficientemente bueno" si reconoces la necesidad de la gracia
de Dios en tu vida y haces todo lo que puedes para estar abierto
a recibir esa gracia, en cualquier Sacramento.

Golf Outing
The 2015 Sacred Heart Golf Outing
will be held on Saturday June 6th at
Forest Hills Golf Course in Elyria.
Tickets for the event are $70 this entry price includes 18 holes
of golf, a cart, food and refreshments at the turn, and dinner at
SHC after golf.
Registration deadline is May 23rd, please contact Jim Marra at
216-409-6330 to register, or for any questions. Proceeds from
the outing will benefit Sacred Heart Athletics.
Retrouvaille Weekend

Retrouvaille helps married couples who are: struggling to
communicate, struggling to stay together, cold & distant
from each other or separated or divorced but want to try
again.
Retrouvaille can help you put your troubled marriage

We are now recycling, and invite the
parish to help us in our efforts to be more
responsible to our planet. There are now
blue recycle containers in the gym, kitchen
and in the Trinity Hall. We have signs
posted to indicate what can be recycled. We would like to
thank those of you that encouraged us to do so.
