Mother and Child
May is the month devoted to our Blessed Mother. Throughout the month of May we will collect new and useful
items to assist mothers with newborns, infants and children who are in need. All donations are distributed to
Catholic groups such as Bridge to Life and communities of nuns who minister to these women and children.
Donations can be left in the baskets placed at the Altar of St Joseph and Blessed Mary:
Blankets, Caps, Bibs, Onesies, Shirts, Socks, Pants, Sweaters, Mittens, Diapers (any size) Baby Wipes, Lotion
Bottles, Pacifiers, Baby Food.
Together with our school children (Academy & Religious Education) our parish has collected hundreds of
items during May. May God continue to bless Holy Child Jesus Church and you for your generosity.
GRILLING WITH GOD SERIES
At the Leonard Center
Please join us for our 6th Annual Grilling With God series. Each Grilling With God includes a night of prayer, food,
discussion, and fellowship for Young Adults.
We will begin with a Holy Hour at 6pm at the Holy Child of Jesus Chapel (86-13 112th Street Richmond Hill, New York)
followed by an out door BBQ and talk. There is a suggested donation of $7.

La Eucaristia. Signo de Unidad
Hoy, nuestra rendida fe nos postra en adoración ante el Altar del Santísimo
Sacramento. Porque celebramos la solemnidad del Corpus Chirsti, es decir, del Cuerpo del
Señor.
Jesus habia dicho: “Yo soy el pan vivo bajado del cielo. Si alguien come de este pan, vivirá
eternamente, y el pan que yo daré es mi carne para la vida del mundo.”
“El que come mi carne y bebe mi sangre tiene vida eterna y yo lo resucitare en el ultimo dia” (Jn 6.51)
La Eucaristía, Sacrificio y Sacramento, es el centro de la vida de todo bautizado. Hacia ella converge la univeral
peregrinación cristiana, y el papel de la Iglesia es llevar almas a Cristo. Todos los dias, y en cualquier lugar en
donde se celebra una Misa, alli. Es la fiesta de Corpus, pero la solemnidad de hoy, es el desdoblamiento del día
de la institución de la Eucaristia, del Jueves Santo, relicario del gran Misterio del Amor divino, donde junto al
Nuevo mandamiento de amar comoEl ama, Jesús deja el Don de Si mismo y el encargo de perpetuarlo: “Este es
mi Cuerpo”,”Esta es mi Sangre” (Mt 26.28).
“Hagan esto en recuerdo mio” (Lc 22.19). Hoy, oremos y cantemos al Amor del los Amores; y vistamos nuestra
alma de fiesta y gratitud , para que asi nuestra vida cristiana crezca en el deseo de Dios, y en el amor a Jesus
Sacramentado.

SUMMER AT HCJ
As of Tuesday, May 31st, weekday Masses will return
to the Leonard Center Chapel.
After Memorial Day Weekend, our Sunday morning,
7:30am Mass, will become a spoken Mass (i.e. no
music). Each of our Sunday Masses at HCJ allow our
parishioners to experience a different side of liturgy –
cantor (Saturday, 5pm) adult choir (9am), children’s
choir with organ (noon), Contemporary Music
Ensemble (Sunday, 5pm), and now a spoken Mass
(i.e. no music) for Sunday morning.
Office Hours: Beginning in July our parish office
hour will be reduced to coincide with the ease of the
summer. Office hours will reflect the needs of the
parishioners. In addition, a more efficient voicemessage system will be implemented. As you know,
you can always email the parish office at
[email protected] if you have any questions /
requests / inquiries.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION
The Religious Education Program is now registering
for the 2016-17 session. Classes will be held on
Saturday mornings from 10:00 am until 11:30 am
starting at the end of September. The early
registration fees are: $60 for one child $85 for two
children $110 for three or more children in the same
family.
THESE FEES ONLY APPLY TO COMPLETED
APPLICATIONS, RECEIVED WITH THE ENTIRE
FEE, BY JUNE 30, 2016. These early fees are
considerably less than the regular fees and result in
a savings of $25 for one child, $65 for two children
and $80 for three or more children.
Our Religious Education Program covers eight
years – each year builds on the previous year’s
instruction. Preparation for First Holy Communion is
a two year program, but it does not and should not end
there. Children should continue their religious
education training straight through to the three year
preparation for Confirmation which occurs in Step 8.
SUMMER CAMPS
Msgr. McClancy Memorial High School is now accepting
applications for their summer camps.
