Safe Environment Training: November 5 The Knights are sponsoring a Safe Environment Training session for Thursday, November 5 at 6PM in McGivney Hall. This meal is for the families of children who are in the local hospitals. We prepare the meal, serve it and then clean up afterward for these people who are in need for a small diversion from the medical problems their children are dealing with. Monday, November 2, 2015 5:30PM Mass in English and 7PM Mass in Spanish Parishioners who have recently lost a loved one are invited to participate in the entrance procession and place a photo of their deceased relative or friend at the Altar. Columbarium Blessing: Following the 5:30pm Memorial Mass, Fr. Cliff will process to the Columbarium for a special blessing, everyone is invited. You also are invited to write the names of deceased loved ones in the All Souls Remembrance Book located in the church narthex through November 2nd. This book of names will be brought to the Altar at the entrance procession for the All Souls Day Mass. Have you ever played it with your children? I Spy something on the ground… colorful leaves, it is FALL! I Spy something yellow… St. Mark Faith Formation backpacks, aren’t they GREAT, and so handy for keeping track of your Faith Formation book, papers and supplies! I Spy something else… parents bringing their children to Faith Formation class and then… going to Mass while their children are in class. WAIT! When do their children go to Mass? The soccer coach asks your child to be at practice – you take them. The teacher asks that your child arrive early at school for a tutoring session – you take them. God, our Father, asks us ALL to celebrate Mass on Sunday’s and Holy Day’s – GOD asks this – how can we NOT follow His request, Commandment, and take them, our children to Mass? I Spy this, so does our Holy Father. I Spy grace filled children, teens and adults… the ones who are participating in Mass! What is Open Youth House? Open Youth House is starting for Middle School students 6th-8th grade! We will be meeting at the Youth House from 3:30-5:30 every Friday. Open Youth House, both the High School and Middle School meetings, is an event we host each week for youth to hang out and get to know each other through games, sports, movies, etc.. There is no fee or lesson, just an open environment for fun and games to allow the students to have a safe environment for fellowship. We encourage students to bring snacks, but this is not an obligation. Come join us here at St. Mark for food, fun, and fellowship! Items needed include fuzzy socks with grippy feet, soft blanket, books (gently used,) head scarf or hats, soft pillows, lip balm, moisturizer, magazines (gently used,) hand sanitizers, kleenex, bath cloths, dry mouth spray, nausea drops, seasickness wrist bands, calendars, journals. Our young adults currently meet on -Fridays in a group called Veritas from 7-9 to pray Lectio Divina at the Youth House. The department looks to expand our young adult community by adding more small groups that can meet on other nights of the week and pursue their own charisms, while coming together once a month in prayer for EXALT at Prince of Peace.
