La parola di Dio insiste sulla destinazione
universale della rivelazione. Oggi, alla luce della
solennità del Battesimo del Signore, facciamo
memoria del nostro battesimo. Rivestiti della luce
di Cristo, professiamo la fede e la testimoniamo
con la vita. Così, siamo chiamati a continuare la
missione di Cristo nel mondo. Con questa festa
liturgica si conclude il Tempo Natalizio.


Migrante: L’Archidiocesi di Vancouver celebrerà la
giornata di preghiera e di prendere coscienza su

Giornata Scalabriniana: Chiediamo a tutti voi di
pregare per i Missionari Scalabriniani che svolgono il
loro apostolato tra i migranti e rifugiati in diverse
nazioni del mondo. Che la Congregazione
Scalabriniana possa continuare a servire la Chiesa e
il mondo.
Preghiera per l’Unità di tutti i Cristiani: Questa
giornata di preghiera comincerà il 18 fino al 25
Gennaio. Celebriamo la diversità e laboriamo per
stabilire la unità così desiderata da Gesù Cristo.
Preghiamo perché coloro che siamo stati consacrati
per mezzo di un solo battesimo possiamo formare un
solo ovile, sotto un solo pastore.
 Mistero grande, Mistero ineffabile, Mistero
dolcissimo... Il Verbo di Dio si è fatto carne e pose
stanza fra noi, la divinità si è unita all’umanità e
l’invisibile è apparso visibile. Abbiamo un Dio che
non vuol essere temuto, ma amato
 O Sublime, sweet and great Mystery... The Word
of God became flesh and made his dwelling among
us; Divinity joined humanity, the Invisible became
visible! God does not want to be feared, but loved!
 Misterio grande, inefábile y dulcísimo... El Verbo
de Dios se hizo hombre y puso su morada entre
nosotros. La divinidad se unió a la humanidad y el
Invisible se hizo visible. ¡Dios no quiere ser temido,
sino amado!

Grace is a participation in the life of God. It
introduces us into the intimacy of Trinitaria life: by
Baptism the Christian participates in the grace of
Christ, the Head of his Body. As an ‘adopted son’,
he can henceforth call God ‘Father’ in union with
the only Son. He receives the life of the Spirit who
breathes charity into him and who forms the
Church. (CCC, 1997)
New Memebers to OLS: We invite you,
individuals or families, who have recently joined our
parish to please fill out the form, which is available at
the church’s entrance. Drop it in the collection
basket or at the Parish Office. Be welcomed: this is
your new parish family!
The English speaking Charismatic Prayer Group
resumes Prayer Meeting on Thursday, Jan 14th
at 7:15 pm in the lower hall Chapel, after
evening Mass. Come for worship, thanksgiving and
praise! Let us pray for one another, for our families
and for healing. Come and taste the love and beauty
of the living God. Everyone is welcome.
World’s Migrant Day: This year Migrant’s Day will
take place at St Francis Xavier Parish, Vancouver —

Scalabrinian Sunday: Jan 17th is the feast day of
most of us, who come from many different countries
& cultures and gather in faith as a parish family. For
Migrant's day, we invite all those who have a
traditional costume of their country to come to Mass
wearing one.
Week of Prayer for Christian Unity: It begins on
Jan. 18 until 25. The theme is ‘Called to proclaim the
mighty acts of God’ (1 Peter 2:9) , and is prepared
by churches and Christian communions in Canada.
In a world marked by diversity in language and
culture, we express our Christian faith in diverse
ways. During this Week we are called to celebrate
this diversity and be faithful to Christ’s call for the
unity of his Church. All are invited to join with
brothers and sisters of various churches in prayer,
song, and witness to unity as followers of Christ.
The Annual Notre Dame Open House will be held
on Thursday, January 21st. For information please
call (604) 255-5454. All Grade 7 students interested
in attending Notre Dame in 2016 are encouraged to
come and experience all we have to offer! Tour
offered as well. The Placement Exam will be on
Friday January 22nd.
OLS School Kindergarten 2016 Enrollment
Deadline: If you are a parishioner with a child
born in the year 2011, this will be the last call for you
to place your child on the wait list for Kindergarten
2016. Deadline is on Jan 15, 2016. Please call the

Día Scalabriniano: El 17 de enero es un día
Scalabriniano, es nuestro día, pues venimos de diversos
países y nos congregamos en la fe como una gran familia
creyente. Si tienes traje típico de tu país, te invitamos a
exhibirlo en esa celebración arquidiocesana!
Semana de Oración por la Unidad de los Cristianos:
Será del 18 al 25 de enero. El tema es: Llamados a
proclamar el gran poder de Dios (1Pe 2:9). Durante esa
semana estamos llamados a celebrar la diversidad y a ser
fieles a Cristo en la unidad de la Iglesia. Oremos para que
quienes fuimos consagrados por un mismo bautismo
formemos un solo redil, bajo la guía de un solo pastor.
Registro de OLS para Kindergarten 2016: Si eres
parroquiano y tu hijo nació en el año 2011, esta es la
última oportunidad para inscribirlo en la lista de espera. La
fecha límite será el 15 de enero de 2016. Comunícate a la
escuela.
