Religious Education
Confirmation… the Sacrament of Confirmation for teens will
take place next Sunday, May 5th at the 12:15 p.m. Mass at St.
Francis Xavier Church. Bishop Frank Caggiano will confirm
our sixteen teens and the young people from St. Francis Xavier.
We will remember them in prayer.
First Communion in Spanish… will take place on Mother’s
Day - Sunday, May 12th at the 10:30 a.m. Mass.
Reminder for parents of children who do not currently attend
classes: our Diocese requires that children/teens attend at least
two school years of classes before receiving Sacraments, including baptism.
Altar Servers Needed… for the Saturdays 5:00 p.m.
Masses and the Sundays, 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 Noon Masses. If
you made your First Communion and you are interested in becoming an altar server or need more information, contact Lydia
Vazquez at 718-623-0457. Fr. Tom will be very happy to see
that the children of our parish will be assisting him at the
masses.

Adult Faith Formation Series
Catholicism - The True Story of the Faith - Part One
This famous documentary created by Father Robert Barron

originally broadcast on PBS.
The program explains not only what Catholics believe and
why, but also displays in breathtaking, visual detail the richness of the Church’s global culture. During each session you
will listen to a presentation of the Church’s essential teaching
and travel with Fr. Barron around the globe to see the Faith in
the depths of its belief and practices.
Join us in the St. Francis Xavier School auditorium on 5

Francis Xavier School News…
Registration and Re-registration… for the 2013-2014 school
year is now in progress. We offer a five day nursery school
program (3 years old by December 31, 2013), as well as classes
for Pre-K-4 through grade 8. Parents will have the option of
enrolling their 3 and 4 year old for a half day or full day program.
Open houses are held every Thursday morning from 9:00 to 10:00
a.m. and by appointment. If you are interested, please call the
