SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE
Engaged couples must make arrangements at least six months prior
to the date of marriage. All are required to participate in a
marriage preparation program. Please call the office to make an
appointment.
SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
Baptism is ordinarily celebrated within a faith community. Please
call the office to register for a preparation class and to arrange for a
time for the celebration.
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION
Confessions are heard on Saturdays from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in the
Guadalupe Chapel.
OFFERTORY GIFT BEARERS
What an honor it is to carry the wine, hosts and offerings to the
priest at Mass for consecration. Families and couples are invited to
sign up to bring the gifts at the Mass that they designate as their
preference. If you are interested, please contact Cristina in the

A sign language interpreter is available on the

The CTR Senior Group meets Fridays at 11:30 a.m. in the Library
for “Bring Your Lunch” meetings or at a local restaurant on the
second Friday of the month. Parishioners 55+ are invited to join.

MISAS DOMINICALES
Nuestra Parroquia de Cristo Redentor celebra tres misas
Dominicales: la primera misa Dominical es celebranda todos
los sábados a las 7:00 p.m. la segunda y tercera son a las
12:00 del mediodía y 3:00 p.m. del día Domingo. La misa es
una celebración comunitaria; por lo tanto participan
miembros de los distintos grupos y movimientos de la
comunidad católica, por tal motivo tratamos de no
particularizarla con gestos que son propios de cada grupo o
movimiento eclesial.
SACRAMENTO DE UNCIÓN DE LOS ENFERMOS

La santa misa se puede celebrar en caso de muerte. Para

SIMBANG GABI - FILIPINO ADVENT MASS
The Filipino-American community of Christ the Redeemer
invites all parishioners to Simbang Gabi (Filipino Advent
Mass) on Wednesday, December 16 at 7:30PM. Mass
will be celebrated by Fr. Patrick Cogan and Fr. Erdman
Pandero followed by a pot luck reception featuring native
dishes and delicacies of the Philippines. Families attending
are asked to bring a dish (traditional Filipino or other dish)

COUNTLESS THANKS
CTR parishioners were extremely generous again this year
as they stepped in to help our neighbors in need. Loads of
coats and shoes were donated through our Religious Ed
program for the LINK Thanksgiving basket distribution.
Through our annual Giving Tree project, bagful after bagful
of gifts went to the Loudoun County Holiday Coalition so
that low income families could put gifts under their
Christmas trees. You donated checks and cash and
groceries to help fill the LINK Christmas baskets so that
our neighbors are able to feed their families this Christmas.
You then remembered that there is a great need for blood
during the holiday season and you were there to “Give the
Gift of Life. Our gratitude goes out to the many volunteers
that organize and give their time to these projects and to the
overwhelming generosity of all the parishioners.

ANNUAL NATIVITY PAGEANT
DECEMBER 18TH AT 7:00 PM
The K-6 Religious Education students will present our
3rd Annual Nativity Pageant for Christ the Redeemer
Parish! All of our students, parents, teachers, and coDirectors Michele Hawes and Cordy Galligan are
privileged to work together for the retelling of the
Nativity story! This year Music Director Claire
Caruso will be directing a new Christmas Children’s
Choir specifically for the Pageant! All children in
grades K-6 are invited to either participate in the
Pageant through “acting” or “singing” for the
Pageant! Each family is requested to bring a dozen of
cookies to share for the reception after the Pageant,
and canned food to donate to LINK. Please mark your
calendars and plan to attend our celebration of
Advent, children and the joyous meaning of Christ’s
coming into the world and our hearts!
LESSONS AND CAROLS
Our Adult Choir and Youth Choir will offer a service
of nine lessons and carols in anticipation of Christ's
coming at Christmas. All are welcome to come to this
scriptural and musical service on Sunday, December

INITIATION
RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS (RCIA)
“I am baptizing you with water,
but one mightier than I is coming…”
On this 3rd Sunday of Advent, we are reminded to rejoice,
and a pink candle on the Advent wreath is lit to mark this
penultimate Sunday.
But the Gospel for today holds much more than the
excitement of the final countdown. It reveals to us the
kinship we have with the long awaited Messiah. One in his
baptism, one in his Body, even though he is mightier.
How does baptism tie us to Christ and hence to
Christmas? Are you not aware that it is your humanity
redeemed in the mystery of the incarnation?
If you are an unbaptized Adult or have an unbaptized child
over the age of 7 interested in becoming catholic through
the sacraments of baptism, confirmation, and communion
or are from a different denomination and interested in
